Onda Origins is my favorite coffee shop in the southern part of Seattle. You may have seen their beans in Whole Foods Market and other grocery stores, but you gotta visit the coffee shop and roastery in Hillman City to fully appreciate their work.

Inside the shop, you may still see the coffee machine that started Onda Origins in the shop when it's not serving people elsewhere. The vibe is relaxing and convivial, service always genuine and friendly. Through this small cafe, Onda Origins tries to expand its impact near and far. It supports neighbor businesses and hosts community events like live music performances and holiday markets. It uses new technology to increase traceability of coffee beans and pays directly to their farmers in Africa and Latin America, whose faces you can find on their bean packaging.

But after all, I come here to get good coffee. Their latte is always smooth and tasty. During my last visit, veteran barista Sam poured me an excellent cortado and let me tried espresso from their new El Salvador roast. I took my sips slowly and savored my coffee. I missed my bus again and again, because this is not a coffee shop where you just want to...

I have been a fan of this roaster for a hot minute and wanted to check out the new shop. Onda did not disappoint! Sam, one of the baristas was super friendly and talked coffee with me for at least 20 minutes. He had a ton of great insight and brewing tips, and answered all of my random questions. One of the owners, Paul I believe, bagged me some coffee they didn’t even have on the shelves yet. The Burundi they had on drip was dialed in and way better than I make it at home.

Whether you’re a coffee fan or a coffee tourist checking out Seattle, MAKE THIS PLACE A PRIORITY! Onda,...

A nice refuge after a mini urban hike in the rain. People watching people lining up for donuts across the street. The outdoor seating is really cozy and relaxing. You can hear your thoughts, the rain, the cars and nearby conversations. Smells of coffee wafts in the cool air, delicate pitter patter of the rain, nice bright accents of yellow tables to brighten up the rainy mood of the day. Friendly staff and a well stocked clean bathroom for all your needs including a baby changing table and tampons. Will definitely come back again for a relaxed and...

I was told that this is the best coffee shop in Seattle and, you know, you here that stuff but you’ve just got to experience it for yourself and draw your own conclusions… We’ll forget what I just said and, trust me… This is the best coffee shop in Seattle. I got to meet Zach who owns the shop with his two brothers and he was an enjoyable person to meet. You can just tell that he enjoys running this shop. So, if you find yourself anywhere close to Onda Origins, give it a try and I think you will find what I found… That it’s the best coffee shop in Seattle.
