My experience at Kin On Assisted Living was unfortunately far from satisfactory. I had high hopes for a nurturing and caring environment for the elderly, but the reality was quite different. Here are some of the factors that contributed to my disappointment:
Staff Attitude: My interactions with the staff at Kin On were disappointing. The majority seemed disinterested and lacked empathy towards the elderly residents. It felt like a lack of genuine concern for the residents' well-being was prevalent among the staff.
Cleanliness and Maintenance: The facility's cleanliness was subpar. Common areas often appeared neglected, with visible dirt and dust. Resident rooms seemed poorly maintained, and I noticed some issues, like leaky faucets and broken fixtures, that were left unaddressed. This lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance gave a negative impression of the overall quality of care.
Safety Measures: I had concerns about the safety measures in place at Kin On. Emergency call buttons in resident rooms sometimes didn't work, and I rarely saw staff conducting regular safety checks or monitoring the well-being of the residents closely. The safety of the elderly residents should be a top priority, and I felt that it was not adequately addressed.
Communication: Communication at Kin On was lacking. Important information about residents' health and well-being was not consistently conveyed to their families. It was challenging to get updates or speak to staff about any concerns. The lack of clear and transparent communication only added to the frustration and worry.
Overall Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere at Kin On felt disheartening. There was a noticeable lack of activities or engaging programs for residents. It often felt like residents were left to their own devices without much social interaction or stimulation. The facility lacked the warm and vibrant environment that fosters a sense of community and well-being.
In conclusion, my experience at Kin On Assisted Living was not what I had hoped for or expected. The facility's cleanliness, safety measures, and communication need significant improvement. The overall atmosphere felt lacking, making it a less-than-ideal environment for elderly residents seeking compassionate care and engagement. I hope that Kin On takes these concerns into consideration and works towards providing better care and support for its residents...
Read moreEquipment here is broken. Nobody keeps a close eye on the elderly there. Had to demand what was going on, before seeing any kind of change. Screaming happens here. Not recommended.
Update: 2021 The elderly rarely have anything to do. They just wander about or stay in bed all day. The residents share a room with one other tenant, similar to hospital rooms. The English-speaking staff do not want to be there, it's very apparent when you call them and they sigh on the phone or when you get someone unfriendly at the front during visitation. I've seen canned tuna as part of the main meals for some of these tenants. The food is very unappetizing. I feel sorry for the elderly folk here, they look like the soul has been...
Read moreWouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.. all the elderly residents are just wondering and are not being watched, going to the bathroom on there own, crawling on the floor on the beds, getting up and out of wheel chairs. Not to mention the English workers can’t even understand them and look traumatized during the entire process. They had some sort of students there who only spoke English i don’t want my family being taken care of by students who are left unattended and can’t even speak our language !!!!! None of the workers want to be there and are not gentle...
