UPDATE: after going to try different flavors of the donuts itās still ok. The flavors are unique but that donāt mean they taste goodā¦still stand on they are way over hyped. HOWEVER the drinks are A1! The cider is to die for, the coffee is strong and delicious and the freakin syrup flavors are damn good, and that strawberry milk is a must! If the line wasnāt dumb and long all day I would go just to get a tea or coffee. Maybe go right before they close⦠I Recommend having two lines one for drinks and one for donuts cause screw them donuts this is the last time Iām going to get some 5 dollar donuts. 3 stars cause the drinks are fire! But thatās not why itās hypedā¦
Iām not understanding the hype at all! Iāll be straight up and say these donuts were trash! Maybe itās just me but The dough itself had a funky taste that I do not like.
Tasted the strawberry cream, salted pistachio, chocolate orange and Tiramisuā¦all trash! The cream on the insides were not good and tasted extremely processed in all the donuts. Maybe they arenāt but shoot I couldnāt tell! The tea was good tho Iāll give them that. Their homemade syrups are alright And yeah the strawberry milk was actually really good not too sweet at all! Very surprising considering the strawberry doughnut tasted like they put strawberry nesquik powder in it. For me it was the worst one in the batch that I got! Chocolate orange maybe I just donāt like this combo but it just wasnāt good very thick cream inside like they tried to melt it then it solidified again. Tiramisu tasted like straight up coffee filling and Pistachio was alright but could have used more pistachio flavor that was the best one I tired.
For sure not worth the wait. I may come back to see a new round of flavors but the dough it self was gross so idk if that will make much of a difference. But thatās my two cents. Service was fine just long wait and what others have said they need a better system if they know they will sell out before noon! Seems like a nice spot as far as atmosphere goes but not worth an hour wait and $5+ for a damn donut and some coffee.
Oh and the brownie was alright. Kinda salty for me but still aināt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Flour Box deserves all the accolades and praise, with owner and baker Pamela Vuong at the helm as a 2022 James Beard award finalist. Every two weeks, there are four rotating and seasonal flavors, which are posted on Instagram and their website (for those of you who are like me and mostly try to stay off social media). They're only opened during limited hours from Thursday to Sunday because they spend the rest of the week prepping and constantly experimenting with new flavors. This bakery is an exemplary model of quality over quantity, and the quality and creativity is high here.
Donuts are light, fluffy and, flavorful with just the right amount of filling. I've never had a bad flavor here (tried London Fog and Yuzu Custard). Don't sleep on their brownies. They are to die for - so creamy and fudgy. I'm not a brownie person at all, and I think about them often. Their coffee and Thai tea are also pretty good and worth enjoying with your donuts.
The staff is also super friendly and tries to move the line fast. Really, Iām amazed at how positive and upbeat they are in the morning considering how crazy these lines get. As for the lines...so I have been here twice. I went on a nice sunny Friday at 10:50 AM, waited maybe 10 minutes and all the flavors were still available. I've also gotten here on a drizzly Saturday at 8:30 AM (about 1.5 hour before opening) and was one of the first 5 people. The lines started wrapping around the block by 9 AM. They usually sell out by noon and will post live updates of how much stuff is available if you want to check before heading over.
They have a lovely and spacious seating area too. I think it's great they are in South Seattle, as we need more businesses like this in the neighborhood to build community and create more spaces for gathering. The owner also grew up in South Seattle (according to Eater) and often collaborates with other local businesses on donut flavors and drinks, so you know they are using the best ingredients and are definitely...

TIPS: āāāāāāāāāāāā When preordering your donut, if you can, try to preorder them for Thursday or Friday. In my experience, youāll have more luck; donuts usually sellout in a matter of minutes rather than a matter of seconds on those days.
Have your card already linked to an account (Google Pay or Apple Pay) AND be signed into your account while checking out. This way, you wonāt have to type out information.
Use a desktop instead of a mobile device. You can press Ctrl + F5 on a Windows keyboard or Press ā Command + ā§ Shift + R for Mac to refresh. Keep refreshing after the clock strikes 10:00am.
Be fast. Items wonāt stay in your basket. Creme BrĆ»lĆ©e & Everything donuts sellout quickly compared to seasonal donuts. Be aware that youāre limited to 6 items, so that other people can have a chance of purchasing items.
If youāre unable to secure a donut, sometimes they have leftovers. If you have social media, follow The Flour Box on Instagram. The owner updates usually around 3:00pm if thereās any extras for that particular day. Act fast, they cannot hold items for you.
If you cannot secure anything that week, just drop by and get a drink! The drinks are amazing, as well. Donāt be bitter. There will be a time when you can get a donut or another item without preordering.
ACTUAL REVIEW: āāāāāāāāāāāā Best donuts Iāve ever had. I donāt usually crave donuts but the donuts from The Flour Box are incredible. Theyāre not too sweet for me, soft, light, creamy, and the flavors are amazing. Iāve had the opportunity of trying a cinnamon roll and that was also amazing! I cannot wait to see how much this little cafe will grow in the coming years and what other items will be offered in the future!
If youāre looking for a recommended drink, definitely try the Shy Fog.
