What a fabulous Yelp Elite event at this recently opened Daniel's at new Hyatt Regency location in seattle to kick of the new year! Close to 75 guests were received and treated by not only the amazing staff at the bar but was accompanied by Mr. Schwartz himself, whose family owns all Daniel's.
Beautiful Rickhouse Whisky bar with plenty of seating overlooking the Hyatt reception lobby. One of the main features is displayed 36 bourbon barrel separating two bars. Bar food and specialty for the evening kept coming until yelpers could handle. Music from adjacent pions bar did add to the evening experience. Very generous of Daniel's to host this event. Bar food was scrumptious and ended up more than enough for dinner. Look up the bar menu on the website.
Highlight of the evening was a personal tour by Mr. Schwartz himself and learning about history of Schwartz's Brothers' passion for restaurants. Beautifully designed restaurant, bars, lounges, kitchen and several party rooms have great themes rooted in history of Seattle. I am sure food preparations are equally superb and unique. It does take a lot of steak eaters to fill in this 500 seat Broiler! It's a tour in history as one walks from room to room. There are images of before and after Denny Regrade, Greyhound bus terminal building before Greyhound made modifications, glass art by Mrs. Schwartz and a lot more.
Daniel's is well respected for its award winning USDA Prime Steaks--the top two percent of all graded beef in the nation. Of course the website menu has all the details....

400 calories for this is something that's pretty wild - but I'll leave it at that
I didn't eat this instantly - left it for a day, and you could tell based on the way the outside felt hard rather than the soft that it should be
It didn't quite feel as hard as like a rock - but it instead felt like the hardness you would get if you baked something too long
Also, I wish there was more filling inside of here. The cranberries were decent - they added some flavor - but more inside rather than just the basic dough would've been better
What I did like about this was the orange-flavored icing. This was pretty plentiful throughout - and it added a really satisfying crunch as you would break apart part of the icing with your teeth when eating. It also had a distinctive orange flavor that I could feel afterwards
Overall, pretty average - I bet I could get way better...
Read moreAll the glowing reviews here of bakery goods that are little oil slicks in your mouth...who is really writing them? Try them yourself, especially the muffins and coffee cake...they stay "fresh" for so long because one small serving has 30+ percent of your daily fat intake...these items NEVER harden...too much oil to keep them slippery and soft, for weeks. Try this at home: Get a blueberry muffin, and slide the bottom of it on your frying pan, then fry an egg. Pretty neat, huh? (WARNING: Discard the muffin in an environmentally safe way.) Then come back here and write about how great it was...why, the best Seattle...
