We were craving a pizza with goat cheese so we started searching for "goat cheese pizza near me" and up popped Antico Soprano's. I've driven past it countless times but never bothered to try it until tonight. I was not disappointed.
The service was warm and welcoming, the atmosphere felt like an old world Italian restaurant from my childhood, and the food was delicious.
When the proprietor first came to our table to give us our menus, he made sure to add that the penne, spaghetti, and fettuccine were fresh and made in-house daily. I was intrigued.
We ordered our goat cheese pizza like we intended, but we also ordered their fresh penne with bolognese sauce. I can't place the unique flavor but the bolognese was fantastic! The penne was the perfect amount of al dente with a pleasurable chewy texture that wasn't too chewy. I loved it.
The 'Al Prosciutto' pizza was the goat cheese we went with. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for (I like my goat cheese baked until it's a little golden brown around the edges) but it was refreshing and piled with slices of fresh tomato, fresh chopped basil, thin slices of Prosciutto and decent amounts of both mozzarella and chevre. The crust was the perfect amount of chewy and flavorful with a thin, crisp outer crust. It was good enough that I didn't leave the extra crust on my plate. I gobbled it down. It most definitely hit the spot.
Despite feeling pretty full and having enough food left over to require boxes, we gave in to the suggestive sell on the house-made tiramisu. Oh, wow! It was big enough for the two of us to share, it was light enough to enjoy even though we were both stuffed, and the flavor... chef's kiss Just the right amount of espresso soaked into the lady fingers, a delicate lightness and sweetness to the marscarpone, it was the perfect ending to a very enjoyable meal.
I can't believe we've lived in West Seattle for almost seven years but never thought to try Antico Soprano's until now. We'll definitely be going back. I'm looking forward to trying their lasagna now that I know their bolognese sauce is so flavorful and complex.
We didn't try them but I was very happy to see that the mini cocktail menus sitting on all the tables included very tantalizing NON-alcoholic drinks as well. I'll be sampling that menu when I return.
We split an Antipasto Salad and my only gripe was that they served it with one whole pepperoncini. I would have preferred it if the pepper had been sliced and distributed throughout the salad. I ended up cutting the pepperoncini in half then slicing mine into strips. It had a nice little kick, not your usual pickled pepperoncini with little to no heat.
I'll be going back and I give Antico Soprano's five stars for being a simple yet classy mom-and-pop pasta and pizzeria haven tucked away in West Seattle directly across from the...
Read moreI met with my friends here to celebrate a birthday and I was not disappointed! I enjoyed my experience here beginning to end
The atmosphere is very rustic and cozy. I immediately settled in and our server was very attentive. I didn’t catch her name but she waited on us this past Wednesday evening. (11/20)
The music playlist was so good I asked the server at the end (a gentleman) what it was. It was a perfect mix of fun Italian songs, some familiar some not, but it elevated the experience.
The food was excellent! I got the Chicken Parmesan, my friend got the special and another friend who comes often always get the Carbonara. We got the Drunken Goat pizza to share. Everything came out hot and fresh! The crust on the pizza was perfectly crispy and chewy. There was good balance with the goat cheese and roasted red peppers.
We ordered Tiramisu for dessert (forgot to take a pic 🥲) it was also fresh and delicious. Creamy, coffee soaked lady fingers and cocoa powder. You could tell everything was made fresh that day.
I will definitely be back and bring all of my friends...
Read moreI ordered a sausage pizza. I eat pizza all over Seattle. This is one of the best places to go. I lived in Philadelphia and New York for years before moving out a while ago. This pizza is delicious New York style pizza. The crust has great pull. Solid amount of cheese. Bright red sauce. Plenty of sausage. Basically in every bite. Chunks of sweet Italian sausage. I also order a Greek salad. The salad was also wonderful. Great feta, greens, crisp peppers. Dressing was outstanding. This really is my new favorite spot. I can't wait to try the pastas. The menu is extensive for a Seattle pizza place. They have mozzarella sticks for example. Almost no one has those. I went a couple days ago and I'm ordering tonight. Don't sleep on this spot. It's well worth what...
