Simply excellent. I've eaten sushi all over Vegas (which gets fresh seafood flown in daily) and I've had sushi in Tokyo to Kanazawa to Osaka. I've noticed that shrimp and scallop in general are much better quality in PNW than Vegas, but the amaebi and scallop nigiri were especially fantastic. Our table tried 4 rolls and all of them were flavorful, fresh, and distinct flavors (even though two were once again scallops).
Service was attentive and friendly, food came out very quickly, and pricing is perfect. I've been looking for a good sushi spot since moving from Vegas, and while Mashiko is excellent for their omakase, Irashai finally fills that sushi roll need. Between this and Kokkaku, I have all the Japan eats I need.
If you need a recommendation... definitely try the 8 piece omakase stairs. Or if nothing else, the Irashai roll. And grab some yuzu sake while...
Read moreOrdered takeout for the first time; a Spider Roll, Volcano Roll, and Hot Sun Roll. I had high hopes based on other reviews but this is some of the worst sushi I’ve had. The spider roll I picked up was mostly imitation krab and avocado (no cucumber) resulting in mush with minimal flavor. The hot sun roll had some heat but the texture was also very mushy due to too much Krabmeat. The volcano roll wasn’t bad but still could’ve been more balanced in texture. I was also disappointed to see the wasabi came in single serve packets and the texture was very strange, a lot thinner/watery than the wasabi I’m used to. I do not...

There were some hits and misses but overall we know we're going back. We asked our very wonderful server for their recommendation and they suggested 'The Lady In Red'. They were spot on, it was delicious.
There were quite a few "spicy" offerings, the spicy factor was relatively mild but when I go for spicy I like it hot so it's all relative. The presentation of everything that came to our table was a work of art. The sushi chefs are obviously very experienced and their love showed on every plate. The pictures on Google don't really do the food justice.
Definitely...
