I recently had a birthday. In order to celebrate, my family and I were going to go out for a nice meal at one of our favorite places in Vero Beach, which happens to be beach-side.
As I got ready for our "night-out," I began to have a change of heart and told my family that I wanted something more casual but a place with a good atmosphere, great food, friendly staff, and competitive prices (my four criteria). So, I sat down and did a "google search" of casual eateries in my area that specialize in burgers. A host of options appeared before my eyes but Sandy's Grille stood out as the one I wanted to try.
We loaded up in the car and headed to the Grille. When we arrived, we were a little worried because it's not on or near the river and the restaurant looks small from the outside (mind you, we'd not changed our attire which was designed for dinner on the beach).
All of our concerns were laid to rest the minute we walked in!
Sandy's is open and inviting with a large bar area and plenty of room for a good evening out for your family (We don't order from the kids menu anymore, but it looks like a place that is great for young children as well).
We were served very well by the staff and the food was not only good - but exactly as the staff described it. The WINGS are fantastic. The burgers may just be the best burgers I've had in this area. All in all, it was a great night and I am pleased we went here for my "birthday" dinner!
I'd never heard of Sandy's Grille before this night, but I can tell you this - we will be back.
Again and again.
If you are in the Vero/Sebastian area and are interested in a home-town favorite with a host of excellent options, then this is the...
Read moreThe thing about doing reviews is that you have to pick and choose what you are going to review & if you write doing this as a freelance writer & publish by reviewing local quaint places like Sebastian by never advertising who you are, well then, that's when you enjoy what you do. Having heard of this local establishment from the local journalist in the area, decided to stop by for an off- beat meal. My Wife ordered what was supposed to be their 1/2 pound Sandy Burger on a Kosher Bread. Well let me tell you, I did not wanted to embarrass the owner, but that Burger was less than a 1/4 pound!, the meat was far from being anything considered 1st class, the Kosher Bread was hard and it appeared to be 1 day old. My granddaughter & I chose their Hotdog, which was nothing more than a "Ball Frank Dog" for $8.99 ! The so called 1/2 pounder ran you $14.00. Mind you this is not any metropolitan area, other places I have reviewed which will be published Nationwide in this area, were nearly not that expensive and much better. Maybe some other things, like some of their Frozen Fish baskets in their menus might be better, but 2 stars for service, cleanliness,...
