I was in the area and wanting a latte. At the time of afternoon it was, this was the only place in the area other than a DD that was open serving coffee. I had read the reviews on here and had seen a low rating given by one reviewer but decided to go ahead and try it anyways. I should not have even wasted my time. We entered the shop only to be ignored by the employee (who we at first even thought was just another customer). When my husband asked if we could get some help, she was rude to him. I didn’t catch that part or I would’ve left right then. When the lady came to assist me, she acted inconvenienced at having to help, and was just incredibly rude. The coffee was pricey for the amount received. It is good to note that I will pay the price for good coffee/latte but this in no way shape or form was anything that should’ve been considered a latte. My daughter got hot chocolate which wasn’t even warm much less hot. As per another review, the employee (a lady) was just rude, inconsiderate, and only treated the locals she knew with any kind of respect. And never mind looking at the books because the other people in there made it too noisy to enjoy looking. And from what I did see the prices on the books were also too much for used books. I’m sorry but I’m not gonna pay $10 for a used book with a ripped cover. This place has the potential to be a good spot, but as long as it is run by this employee, (and until the coffee improves) you won’t see me in here while visiting...
Read moreHad the potential to be a little slice of heaven. Variety of books, natural lighting, a very good cappuccino. However, the lady behind the counter was not pleasant unless you were a frequent visitor. She greeted all the older women who entered kindly. The shop is laid out wonderfully! 10 women who sat among the tables in the middle of the bookstore to knit, loudly. That area takes up half of the store. I said "excuse me" several times, so that I may view the books. I needed to get close to the books because I'm legally blind. They didn't move and scoffed at me and loudly scooted up their chair with a sigh with each other, when I squeezed by. The same ladies that went right in infront of me before I placed my coffee order & the lady behind the counter said nothing. So...if you're looking for a hidden great cup of coffee...this is the place. If you also like to be treated like a bother, because you aren't a regular, yet, this is also the place. Until customer service is brushed up upon & anyone (despite age or local) can come into the shop and navigate the books to purchase...I'll put my 45 min drive on hold. Just thought I'd stop by after going to the Memorial for Memorial Day. Friendliness/warmness goes a long way...
Read moreSorry, I hate to leave bad reviews but I also wish I would’ve read my own review before I went there. There’s a paradox. Jonesing for some great cappuccino we tried this place for the first time. I have to say, my cappuccino just tasted like coffee with milk in it, Nothing special. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was hard and stale. For me, the tiny little dab of cream cheese was not enough and I was informed that it was a dollar for another dab of cream cheese. My wife got a little cake that she said was good. When I mentioned that the bagel was stale the clerk took it off my bill without a second thought. I believe the clerk knew that the bagels were stale but she serve them anyway. The total for two cappuccinos and one little cake came to $13.20. Would not have minded paying that price if I had gotten the cappuccino I...
