I just had family visiting the area for about a week. After eating dinner at a nearby establishment, we dropped by Paradise for a little dessert so the kids could then play at the Sebastian Park. ( we were ordering and leaving ). We arrived about two and a half hours before closing time. There was one other Patron in the place who purchased and left. So there was only my party... three adults and three children. This should certainly be an easily handled situation with two employees. The older of the two workers was already displaying an attitude when we walked in. We all ordered basically very simple stuff, a couple of scoops in cones and cups and only one milkshake. We didn't ask for any samples or anything like that. When the milkshake was ordered, the girl turned back towards us rolled her eyes as if it was going to bug her to have to make such. Even my 10 year old grandson, for whom the shake was being made, commented afterwards about how she acted. We are all a very nice and pleasant / happy group and did not understand why she would act like this. The young girl working alongside her was very nice. We ended up getting the product and fortunately it was very good ice cream. I popped back in to grab a few napkins for the kids and the same woman was staring at me like I was doing something wrong. Having noticed her rotten attitude, I did at that point asked if she wanted to charge me for the napkins. She made some comment that had me feel as if i was being done a favor by being allowed to take several napkins. That was their last experience in the Sebastian area before getting in their vehicle and heading north to Charleston. Their last afternoon in Sebastian certainly could have ended with a more pleasant experience. What an embarrassment. On a side note, a couple of days prior, we stopped into Pop's ice cream in the Woody's BBQ shopping center. There was a decent line prior to our arrival. There was only one employee working the entire crowd. She very pleasantly and efficiently worked through the line and even bantered back and forth with people in the line, kidding around, Etc. It's too bad we didn't reverse visits and have pops ice cream be their last experience in Sebastian.....and if you think I'm exaggerating, you're thinking wrong. It was ridiculous. If you insult my family,...
Read moreWe go here when we take our son to the splash pad because it’s convenient, despite the cost not matching up to the quality of the ice cream. Today, we ordered our son a kids size soft serve with m&ms. She grabbed the adult small so I said “kids size please” again. She said she’d put it In that size because of the M&Ms. I thought that was nice and said thank you. I then ordered another kid size of another flavor with no toppings due to being dairy sensitive and not wanting to pay for ice cream we would have to throw away. She handed me the adult size small and I told her I asked for the kids size. She said “our small is basically a kids size” and continued to charge us for two adult smalls and then a one dip cone. It wasn’t worth the argument while my son was so happy to have a treat. Instead, We now will bring our business (and our friends with small children) elsewhere, as it’s not our only option in town and the other places have a kids sized option that they aren’t stingy...
Read moreMy sister and I were visiting our parents from New York and we went here for ice cream after dinner. The store was packed and it was very confusing how the line was since people were coming in from both the back and front doors. The 2 employees working were clearly overwhelmed but they were extremely rude. The woman who made my sisters ice cream didn’t fill the cone completely so she ended up dropping it and was frustrated at my sister for whatever reason. The gentleman who helped me and my parents gave my mother an attitude because she was giving the other employee her order and not him. I spent $20 on one cone and a banana split and the male employee had told my mother that she needed to pay the additional $1 for the nuts they put on their sundae….. needless to say my parents will not be coming here anymore and my sister and I won’t either when we...
