Horrible, what a shame. It is unfortunate that I have to leave this review and I do it reluctantly but they need to learn to never do this again. I was in Sebastian for a memorial where my brother got killed by a drunk driver. I went to Vic’s thinking I would order something very easy to cook. Spaghetti with garlic and oil. This is quite an easy Italian dish. After a long sad day I went into the restaurant and I was seated I ordered a glass of red wine and asked for a dish of spaghetti with garlic in oil. Mind you I have owned approximately 11 restaurants and eight of them or Italian restaurant and pizzeria’s in New York City. I was served garlic knots which were fine, the wine was fine then came out this dish. It was Cold linguine and on top of it was a clump of burnt garlic that was fried in oil. I was revolted however I did not say anything I just waited for the waitress who never showed up again. I then took out $17 out of my pocket and put it on the table. I looked at the menu and the dish was $11.95 if I am correct. Therefore I figured that would cover the wine and the cost of the entire dish that I left. As I was walking out the waitress rudely chased me and told me I did not leave enough money and that I still owe an additional two dollars. I turned to her and said OK how much do I owe you that is when the owner stepped in and said what was wrong. I politely said to him that this is a disgrace for you to have served such a horrible dish of cold spaghetti with burnt oil and burnt garlic thrown on top of it. This is a very common easy dish to make. I told him he should be ashamed of himself. I turned to the woman and gave her five dollars as a tip. The owner profusely apologized. He spoke as a gentleman and I spoke to him as a gentleman and said this is a shame. He actually did not charge me however it said that I have to leave...
Read moreMy wife and I have eaten there a number of times, and we hoped that we had found a really great local Italian restaurant. Not a pizza and sandwich place like most of the Italian eateries in Indian River County. Eating at Vic's has been a hit and miss. The first time there i couldn't believe the taste of their homemade Ministrone soup. I liked it so much that I told the waitress that I wanted a Quart to go. We'll no such order was placed and when I tried to find the waitress she was in the wind. The second time there I ordered Chicken Parm . The meal was great. Upon going home I happened to review the check, and saw that I was charged for Veal Parm. No big deal just a few bucks more. The third time we brought our son with us and we waited over 45 minutes for our food. The waitress who stayed clear of us, finally came over and apologized and said that the problem was because they were one waitress short. Weird, what does that have to do with the kitchen and our meals? The forth visit we were seated and a young lady came over and told us it was her first night. Ok. Well we again had to wait over 45 minutes for our entries and when the manager came over to us to apologize he said that she the waitress was new and orders got backed up. I think he should have said she forgot to put in the order. We got there a 4pm there were very few people there when we arrived. Go figure. My Chicken Cacatore arrived and instead of chicken breast medallions I was served small pieces of dried chicken crumbles, the kind you might sprinkle on a pizza. Well that's it for us....
Read moreLoved the coziness of the place seemed very authentic, but I think I may have chosen the wrong menu item. I had a Philly sub with peppers and onions. They asked if I wanted cheese and charged me an extra 1.25. The sub was 8.99 without the cheese. The sub roll was too doughy tasted like a dinner roll instead of a sub roll. The meat was dry and had no seasoning and the cheese was so melted it completely covered the top half of the sub drowning out the entire other ingredients. The fries were lukewarm warm. The waitress was nice and brought us what we asked for but didn’t ask how everything was. She was busy so as soon as she dropped off what we asked for she ran off to another table. I paid with my debit card and she took my card with her and brought back a hand held machine that already was poised at the tip area, where she place the tip % at a higher rate than what I thought was worth 25%. If the food would have been better I probably would not of minded paying it. And I think because where the machine was placed at tipped section, I tipped off the total instead of the subtotal ( but I could be wrong) it just seemed too expensive and not worth the money of 25.50 for the entire meal. I almost ordered a glass of wine but glad I didn’t it would have been 8.99 for one glass. (I had a beer for $4.49 ) didn’t find the house wine any less expensive. Although I wasn’t completely happy I will give this restaurant another chance. It seemed like a popular place and people seemed to be happy there. Like I said maybe I just ordered the...
