Sebastopol Americana From the moment I stepped into this charming eatery, I was enveloped by an air of warmth and familiarity. I have cherished this place for years, and each visit feels like an exciting new adventure. As someone who typically gravitates towards the comforting embrace of pancakes, I decided to step outside my culinary comfort zone and indulge in their biscuits and gravy—a sublime choice that left me elated.
The biscuits, slightly flatter than the traditional round varieties, were a delightful surprise. Their texture was remarkable, striking a perfect balance between crisped edges and a tender interior, enhancing the dining experience. The accompanying gravy was nothing short of spectacular, delivering a savory richness that fully satisfied my cravings.
Alongside my order was a side of two eggs prepared any style. Normally, I shy away from eggs at restaurants due to unpredictable quality, but I dared to try them scrambled. To my delight, they arrived perfectly cooked—luscious in color and free from any greasiness. Each bite was a testament to the care taken in preparation, delivering a flavor that was both satisfying and refreshing.
I wholeheartedly recommend this local, family-owned gem. With its commitment to quality cuisine, you are certain to leave content and...
Read moreThis was one of the most expensive-for-the-quality and disappointing meals I have had. First, I never write reviews. Secondly, I never pass up fries. But these fries were so dry and flavorless that I left almost the whole serving untouched. My friend and I split our order of a patty melt w/fries, side salad, fried chicken sandwich w/onion rings. The patty melt was nothing special & unevenly cooked. The chicken sandwich was so dry tough & flavorless it was barely worth eating. The onion rings came with 4 large rings heavily battered & too greasy to eat and had no seasoning. The food was definitely not worth $32 each nor the wait. We were there for 1 1/2 hrs of which 1hr 10mins was waiting time. The one waitress was as sweet as could be, worked really hard, & was clearly overwhelmed but did a good job of not showing it. We watched the other front staff member do 1/3 of the work and was clearly not a team player. I do think the products are fresh and love that they’re locally sourced. Unfortunately, not prepared in a way that serves it justice. Most everything was dry and overcooked. More staff could help resolve some issues. But they really need to improve the seasoning, flavor, &...
Read moreA local redirected us to the restaurant as we deliberated on where to feed our kids. The food is better than a greasy spoon but it doesn’t stand out against other breakfast places. It’s more expensive than most breakfast spots but it’s to be expected since the ingredients are locally sourced. My kid was exceptionally disappointed with the flavor of his waffle, the small dollop of whipped cream, and the few tablespoons of oranges and apples on top instead of traditional toppings like berries. Servers worked hard but seemed understaffed. The minimum tip for credit card was 20%. I might be judging too harshly, I’m a bit of a curmudgeon about...
