So the People of Sedalia voted for me to visit Mighty Melt! After eating there, I totally understand why. The bread here is worth visiting on it's own.
We tried a few of their recommendations and I'm glad we did. There is such a sense of pride here and community. The low rumbles of conversations from the packed lobby, the soft laughter from the staff because they're all in great spirits.
This is the kind of place you quickly become a regular at, or definitely take out of town guests to experience.
The potato's are cooked perfect, and the right size. Soft, savory, packed with delicious toppings. The sandwiches, are the exact balance of everything listed on your order. The Bread will make you think pilows from God, but dense also, and tender, but chewy too? It's such a masterpiece of everything.
The Staff will steal the show if you let them. Eager to brag about the 40 years in business and to share their favorite items which is helpful. Also, a Potato Soup that will have you lying to your Mom when you tell her "hers is the best" 😉
Mighty Melt was a big win, with small city vibes. An easy choice for a stellar meal with a really decent price tag. Enjoy!.

Read moreAbsolutely atrocious experience! Will never be going back there again! First of all, they should've stayed closed if this was the quality food they were going to be serving. Why it was so busy I will never understand, we waited a ridiculous amount of time for what we ordered (two soups and one tiny sandwich) I'm not a picky eater, really. But this is the most rubbery flavorless boiled chicken I have ever tasted. It's supposed to be grilled but I guarantee you the grill marks are fake. My husband wanted to get one of the pizza melts which was on the menu we saw online, but come to find out it's not something they make anymore. He ended up going to taco bell instead and as a Mexican who hates taco bell I ended up being so jealous of his lunch compared to the junk sandwich I couldn't even finish because it was so bad. The potato soup that was supposed to be one of their best offerings was mediocre at best, tasted kinda like a dirty potato and the bacon, where was the bacon? You need a microscope to find it. Do yourself a favor and save your money for literally anywhere else. Oh and we paid $15 for that ! One cup of soup (8 oz) one bowl (12 oz) and one...
Read moreWe don't get to eat her much as were 60 miles away (Blue Springs), but when we pass thru we always stop. Today we made a special trip as the wife was craving an Original MaxiMelt so off we went on a 120 mile round trip.
Everyone is super friendly and prompt, sure it takes a while as they make each sandwich fresh and toasted to melt the cheese. The wife always gets the Maxi so she can take 3/4 home for later. Note that Maxi appears to be 12 inches x 10 inches and cut into 6 pieces! That is a monster sandwich. I go the simple route and the Turkey Club regular is my choice. Stop by and visit them, yes it takes a little while to prepare your sandwich but it's fresh and worth the wait.
(they have super...
