"Teremok Coffee & Desserts is a delightful European oasis in the heartland. On any given morning, you might hear several languages floating through the air, including Pennsylvania Dutch, while patrons from multiple states gather to enjoy authentic European breads and pastries.
The café's marketplace is a treasure trove of European delicacies. Their impressive selection includes authentic sprats in olive oil from Riga, and premium caviar from Belarus and Russia. As someone who enjoyed genuine caviar during visits to Kiev in 2004-2005, I can attest to the quality and authenticity of what Teremok offers. You'll find hearty, dark breads from Lithuania and Belarus, and even the legendary Georgian mineral water Borjomi, renowned for its unique mineral content and therapeutic properties. The shelves are thoughtfully stocked with specialty items like Dr. Schavits Valerian Tincture from Israel, alongside an array of herbal remedies, vegetables, and fish products. Their selection of imported chocolates and a bakery section brimming with tempting European pastries adds to the authentic European market experience.
The café's sweets are remarkable - from liquor-filled chocolates to artisanal herbal products sourced from at least half a dozen European countries. Their croissants are exceptional, and the breakfast and lunch sandwiches are crafted with care. The dessert case is a work of art, featuring an impressive array of European treats.
What truly sets this place apart is its coffee program and exceptional service. Whether you're requesting heavy whipping cream on the side, steamed cream, dining in, or placing a DoorDash order, the staff's attention to detail never wavers. Their lattes and specialty drinks offer rich, complex flavors that warrant repeated visits. The recent addition of fresh flower bouquets adds to the European market atmosphere.
The staff's warmth and attention to detail make every visit special, whether you're browsing the market or enjoying the café. Their digital tipping system is well-deserved, as their service consistently goes above and beyond. This café isn't just a business; it's a cultural hub where international flavors and heartland hospitality meet. A true gem that stands among the finest...
Read moreA bit expensive, like 7 bucks for my drink, 7.50 for the cheesecake and almost 8 for my salmon bagel. So one of those rare treats to get when you're paycheck just comes in. The place has a cozy vibe and free WiFi, me and my fiancee often visit the European goods side of the store since we love the bread and candies over there. Their cheesecakes are the in oven homemade kind, not the kind you find in Walmart, which I really appreciate. The cheesecake wasn't probably worth the 7.50 (after tax) but it was at least a good 4-5 bucks a slice good. It was really good. The drinks were super good. Had a pumpkin specialty drink and it wasn't overly sweet! You could still taste the coffee in it lol.
The only problems I have is that it's a bit pricey and they need more signage in the shop (the deserts case didn't have any pricing signage so I had to ask the barista, which is a little awkward.) I do feel like they need a little book or something for the ingredients in their food. I ordered the salmon bagel expecting salmon and bagel since I needed the protein after all that sugar. Pros to it was it was HUGE (it's worth the price đ) and had cucumbers and a generous amount of cream cheese that glued it all together. However, the thing I wasn't expecting was the salmon to be raw instead of cooked. Which upset my stomach because of the raw fish thing, I still ate it because it was 20 minutes after I bought it and I paid a bit for it, plus it was still tasty. The fish just threw me off. It should probably be a good idea to put up a sign or a little asterisk or something that tells the customer if the food has anything out of the ordinary like that for safety reasons. Strongly recommend that.
Other than the lack of signage and the pricy nature I like the place and probably will treat myself again when the next...
Read moreTeremok Coffee is a really cozy spot. The decor is super cute and it has a nice, inviting vibe. It is definitely a good place to sit and hang out. They have a market section as well, which has some unique items that are worth checking out.
They have some desserts that are amazing (the honey cake with currants & the seasonal pumpkin cookie are my favorites), however the availability can be hit or miss as certain food items are often out of stock, so I just recommend calling in to check before ordering online. The coffee here is on the less-sweet side, even if you pay for âextra sweet.â Thatâs great if you like it that way, but if not, Iâd recommend their X-fusions or lotus drinks instead. The food menu is pretty limited, but they have some good food items as well.
The biggest downside for me has been the order accuracy. Almost every time Iâve visited, thereâs been some kind of mistakeâ whether I get the wrong item, something missing, customizations forgotten, or being charged for something I didnât order. The staff usually fix it when I bring it up and are very accommodating, which I do appreciate, but it can get a bit tiring having to do it almost every visit. I think some extra staff training would really help. The owner is always so kind and accommodating and is always very fun to talk to!
Overall, Teremok has a lot of potential. Itâs a really cute cafe with some yummy stuff. It is a bit on the pricier side, but I wouldnât mind that at all if my orders came out right more often. With a little more consistency and staff training, this place could easily be a 5/5. While still keeping everything I mentioned above in mind, I do still recommend checking the place out and seeing what you...
