We have frequented this café for years... It has always been a great spot for casual dining, lots of good food, and very friendly service... We had moved away and it has been a year since in last... Our server, Michelle, was the most rude and impersonal server/employee we have experienced in many years! She was very rude, curt in responses, never made eye contact, and turned away BEFORE she even got responses from us... we were in complete disbelief.... She appeared to have the other servers fearing her - a couple of them apologized for not doing something fast enough... We observed all of the other servers being very attentive, friendly, and lots of smiles... When we asked one of the other servers the name of our server (so that we could leave this review) she actually asked was it because she was being rude! We were there for breakfast, and the food was good and plentiful as always, barring the eggs - we both ordered scrambled and they were overcooked/singed brown... Overall we still highly recommend Joy's - maybe just ask to not be seated in Michelle's...

Breakfast is the bomb here! The cooks do a great job in cooking and serving delicious food in just the right amount of time. Service is top notch here. Olivia our waitress was the best. Made us feel at home every time we came in. The omelettes are huge and delicious. The coconut pancakes are like nothing I have had before. My husband is officially addicted to them. The espresso is also on point. They have fresh baked bread they make right in house too. The Reuben sandwich was one of the best I have had with perfectly cooked fries. The prices are reasonable for the portions you receive. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. We are here visiting from out of town and wish we could have a place this good where we are from. But then again we would gain a ton of weight if this place was a regular of ours. LOL 😆 Definitely...

Didn’t think I would come here to do a review ever on a place but I had one of the worst experiences today June 29th 2024 it was my step dads birthday and I decided to take the family out to eat and I’ve been wanting to try this place out and I got there and the minute I walked in it felt off and the server threw the menus on the table didn’t talk much and was rude never checked if we needed anything and seemed to be more occupied with others there I know in this town it’s very common to only see a certain color I am Hispanic so I figured that is why we got treated this way horrible experience I always tip after but this was a reason why I didn’t my family had the worst experience it’s sad how I just wanted to enjoy the food but it was horrible too the food was uncooked but we decided to not even speak about it...

What a wonderful quaint place this is!! Feels like I've gone back 50 years and in a good way. The town was quaint with the old fashioned downtown, parking right in front. The restaurant was decorated nicely and very homey feel. The pastries in the display case were HUGE. We stopped here on our way to North Cascades National Park for breakfast. We had the classic American breakfasts - an order of oatmeal, and order of eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast. They were all very delicious and exactly as you'd expect a traditional American breakfast. There is nothing fancy or pretentious about this place or these dishes. They stuck to the old American tradition.

This is a hometown bakery at its best! Joy’s has been in Sedro-Woolley for as long as I can remember so maybe some of the decore could use some updating, or maybe that is some of it’s charm. You decide. It is always packed. And you always know the people inside. They have cinnamon rolls the size of a plate that I would advise you to share (or save some for later) but are delicious. And a case (that they cannot keep full) of cookies just as big. You will not be disappointed with anything you order for breakfast or lunch! It is just too bad they are not open for dinner.
