After searching for bbq places near the Universal City/ Selma area, we came across this wonderful outside joint with high ratings. It is right off I-35 with ample parking surrounded by a canopy of trees. I ordered the 2 meat plate while my wife ordered the bbq wing plate. Let me tell you, the other reviews we read were no joke. The brisket was not too dry nor overly moist, good taste, good outer bark. Sausage was not too smoky, just the right amount of spiciness. The sides...green beans and potato salad were a good compliment. My wife's plate of the bbq wings were tender and juicy. It reminded me of a whole bbq chicken, but in wing size. But be careful....they are not shy with their size portion. She couldn't finish all six, so of course I was willing to help, lol. She also had the potato salad and pinto beans, which were very tasty. Each plate came with onions, pickles, and bbq sauce. Unlike other places, they provided a pickle spear, not slices, good for you ! Now the sauce, tangy, sweet, and kinda of hits you in the back of your mouth, awesome. As we ate, savoring our plates, the owner came out to greet us and asked if we needed anything..thumbs up on the service. To top it off, as we sat in their nice outdoor dining environment, we enjoyed the 80's playlist coming off their lantern speakers. Overall, great BBQ >great service > nice cool night > lighted patio area > 80's music....great combination !!

The best food I've enjoyed in Texas!! I'm visiting some family and they have even said themselves it is the best bbq they've had since moving here. I ordered the Rib Plate and brisket with sides of mac and potato salad. 🤪 The ribs basically fell off the bone and didn't even need the sauce but their sauce is amazing! I made a sandwich with the brisket, pickles and onions and of course that heavenly bbq sauce. Mac and cheese was so yummy we even ordered another side to go! Potato salad was delicious, I had to finish my plate even though I was stuffed. The family ordered desert and I ended up trying the banana pudding cake hours later as a midnight snack! I don't even think I could pick a favorite because it was all so tasty! The environment and hospitality was just as great as their food. Food was brought to our table, along with the desserts (even though we arrived shortly after opening and there was a lot for the staff to do). Their picnic area is super cute with the lights and bbq pit. They had a tv outside for those who enjoy a little entertainment while dining! And it seems they were letting a family host a birthday party which would be super fun! All around an amazing experience and the best food I've had out of a food truck. Thank you guys for what you do & feeding us with amazing food!

Time to get a bite to eat on a Saturday night. Heard about this place by word of mouth and I had seen it on my scrolling through restaurants and barbecue near me. Decided to give it a try tonight. Pretty easy to find on the northeast side of San Antonio right on an access road. Outside food truck with plenty of seating at picnic tables. Tables have umbrella's over them and the also light up. There's a lot to do for kids as well. Horseshoes, ping pong, cornhole and more. Good family atmosphere there tonight. I tried the brisket, sausage, mac and cheese and green beans with a water. Friendly service, nice people, reasonably priced. To meat two sides and a water plus tax $17.32. Food was prepared on site. Plate was put together quickly. The brisket was nice and moist not dry or overcooked. The sausage had a good taste to it as well. The BBQ sauce in the cup was a bit more runny than most places. But, it had a good taste and a bit of a kick to it. The sides were good also. Definitely recommend this location if you get a chance. If you're in San Antonio it's on the northbound Access road between Evans road and Retama race track. They also have a loyalty card working your way to discounts and free food. Give it a try

UPDATE to owners response below: first of all, it’s not false. Maybe it WAS an off day…my review was my honest review! I love when owners reply to a review like they did below. It truly shows their colors and they can’t accept criticism! I realize every place doesn’t have a perfect day…maybe you do make your own M&C…just because it wasn’t that good to me, doesn’t mean it wasn’t to others…fair enough! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion right?! This IS America lol. I wasn’t trying to take away from your business…I left a 3-star review, which I’m entitled too. I could easily change this, IF I really wanted to screw with your business, but I’m not. Your reaction clearly shows you didn’t like it…and you don’t have too! That’s plenty fine with me. Regardless have a great day and keep on keeping on!

They have great reviews, which is what made me want to go here, but my visit wasn’t all that good. Brisket was very dried out and not moist at all. The bark was good and the flavor was decent, It was just extremely dry. The ribs were good for what little bit of meat I got. They were very overcooked, and the outer bark was crispy burnt blackened, and it destroyed the meat inside so I got very little meat off my ribs, which was disappointing, because that was one of the things I was looking forward to. The sausage was good and had a good smoke flavor but that’s about it. They look like a traditional package sausage you would get at the grocery store thrown on the smoker for infusion. The mac & cheese looked like what was a typical box stuff, so nothing special there and no real cheese flavor. Doubt I will...
