My husband and I ate here frequently while at college at Northwest. It was always such a pleasant and flavorful experience that we always make a point to eat here whenever we come back to Senatobia. We regularly drive over an hour to visit Senatobia, namely for Mr. Chen's and the Trading Post. The food here is so much fresher and more flavorful than most Chinese places you will find in North Mississippi. Portions are amazingly sized and they always include lots of veggies or meats and have lots of Vegetarian options. They stick to their Hunan roots more than a lot of other Chinese restaurants in the area, so you won't find a lot of macaroni and cheese or pizza, which is something we love about it! There are plenty of other places for American food. Restaurants like this always have such a nicer, homey feel compared to the ones most people seem to prefer for some reason. I can't recommend Mr. Chen's enough. All the waitstaff are always friendly and helpful, and service is super prompt. We loved the restaurant so much we even named our...
Read moreI've been a patient (tipping 20%) customer at this establishment, despite consistently poor service from one particular staff member (the middle aged lady at the front). She rarely greets me, and our interactions have become increasingly strained. This place has… let me list Lack of Hospitality No greeting upon arrival Abruptly walks away when I enter Accountability the woman blame to customers when mistakes occur on their end Unprofessional Behavior Raised voice when confronted about said errors Dismissive attitude ("Do you want it or not??????") So, the incident today was the final straw. After verifying my order over the phone, it was still prepared incorrectly. When I politely explained the issue, she became loud and dismissive. Just standard quality food isn't enough to compensate for such disrespect. As a reasonable customer, I’m just going to try the...
Read moreYou need a zero star rating. This was tied with the worst Chinese restaurant I have visited. I have eaten Chinese food in several states. The man who answered the phone said I could only order the large Curry Chicken, not the small. I said "But it's on the menu!" Am I the only one who finds it funny that only the large was available? Isn't that backwards? If they don't have enough, they couldn't fill a large order. I guess if they have way too much, you have to buy more. Mr Chen's food is disgusting. The won ton soup was dark orange and the won tons were thick and rubbery. The vegetable fried rice was greasy. The egg roll was about half the standard size. The worst thing about their food was the diarrhea that I suffered the next day. Thank God for Kaopectate! Between Mr Chen and Taco Bell, I'm glad...
