We were able to get a reservation over the phone so the wait wasn’t as long once we arrived but it still took 15 minutes past the estimated wait time. Not an easy thing to control on Saturday morning but worth pointing out. Our waitress was okay, it was around 11:30 and she was probably ready to go home by then. We ordered French toast with country ham and pancakes with country ham. It was a good 45 minutes before our food arrived and by then my Dr Pepper was watered down from melted ice so I requested a new one. Neither order of ham looked like it had been cooked for more than a minute on either side. If you eat c.h., you know the color it gets when it’s been fried up and this wasn’t it. Still tasted okay, but could have been better with a little more cooking. They were definitely trying to catch up getting food out and didn’t take much time on it. I can’t complain about the portions of food, and this is more a personal preference, but three huge pancakes on one plate is difficult to eat. Besides being lighter than I like (maybe I just like my food more brown than they cook it?), it was hard to get butter and syrup in a good proportion to eat. An extra plate would have been great but it took so long for the waitress to come back, we were done trying to eat and I don’t think I finished half of one. I didn’t bother trying to take it home, although the waitress did bring a to-go box without being asked. Overall, we didn’t enjoy it as much as we hoped, especially for the price, but all these things could be personal issues that other people have no...

Waking through the door one sees a simple floor plan and simple decor. After that, nothing is that simple. Ordering coffee, the coffee comes to you in your own carafe. I love this touch. I wish the half & half came fresh in your own carafe as well but that is nothing more than wish. It doesn't detract from the experience at all given the ample half and half cups on the table. My wife and I each ordered a skillet breakfast along with the breakfast fritters. So. Much. Food. The breakfast fritters were warm little bundles of doughnut hole-like joy with a sweet but not overly sweet dipping sauce. As for the skillets, the biscuit in the skillet was huge! The sausage gravy was simple, yet perfect for the biscuit. The eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and hash brown casserole across both of our skillets were excellent. The pancakes that accompany the skillets were almost as big as the plate they came on. They were perfectly golden brown with a consistency that wasn't too dense but not overly airy as well but a perfect balance between the two. We found the prices to be quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of the food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and intend to return with my 80+ year old mother. She will love the experience as she loves breakfast as the best meal of the day! We cannot wait...
Read moreWe had a rocky experience here. When our group of 5 first got seated, we waited a long time for our server. And they weren't slammed with customers or anything. There were plenty of open tables. Bigger groups who arrived after us were already getting helped. I finally flagged down one of them to ask about our server, and she went to go find ours. Our server finally came out, apologizing, and we ordered. The food came out quickly, and it was pretty good. But nothing amazing. It was also an uncomfortable dining experience. Their decor is very rustic, and they maintain a log cabin theme throughout the place. But they seat you on hard wooden benches. No padding or anything. This was hard on the older folks in our group. The table they gave us was also not big enough for the 5 of us. 3 of us had to sit on one of the log benches, and we didn't all fit. One of us had to sit on the edge of the bench. Things got worse when we got our check. They had split the check for us into 2 checks. The first check was fine. But for the second check, they put all of the food items that our entire group had ordered on that check. And the hostesses had a difficult (and lengthy) time sorting that out. All in all, I'd recommend trying a different pancake restaurant in the area. There's plenty...
