The service was fine. The lady I interacted with for the 15 seconds it took to collect my to go order was very friendly, attentive, and expedient.
The food was tasty, but the ratio of meat and vegetable to rice needs work. If you order the hibachi chicken and add the stir fry vegetables, expect a few small pieces of chicken and vegetable in a very thin layer across a red box full of rice. Almost $14 for what essentially amounts to a box of rice, albeit very tasty rice, doesn't really seem worth it.
Thankfully I live nearby, so I was able to take it home and add some more chicken and vegetables to salvage the dish. If I were on vacation and without the ability to fix their food, I would be sorely disappointed.
I also wanted to try one of their egg rolls, but $3-$5 for a single egg roll is absurd.
I preferred when they were still a food truck. The portions seemed much more appropriate for the the prices.
I may give them another try at some point in the future, but probably not any time soon. There are similarly priced alternatives nearby that aren't nearly as stingy with the meat and vegetables.
The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a restaurant connected to a gas station. Not necessarily bad, but...
Read moreWe were excited to try Red Box Hibachi after seeing so many good reviews, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype.
While the staff was friendly and customer service was polite, there were several issues that made our visit disappointing. We brought up the local discount while checking out, but the cashier told us it was too late to apply it since we were already in the process of paying. That was frustrating, especially given the high prices.
We ordered steak hibachi with shrimp added and paid extra for vegetables, expecting a well-balanced meal. Instead, our bowls were mostly rice with very little meat or veggies. For over $40, it didn’t feel like a good value.
We were also charged $2.00 for two small cups of water, and one egg roll cost $3. These small charges added up quickly and made the meal feel overpriced.
On the plus side, the staff wiped down our table right after we left, which shows they care about cleanliness. They also offer dine-in, drive-thru, and online ordering, which is convenient.
Overall, while the customer service was kind and attentive, the food quality and pricing didn’t meet our expectations. We won’t...
Read moreThe people are nice. The service is slow. There is an “equity” problem here. The walk in customer is punished and non-prioritized. Those who are too lazy to get off their azzes and pick up their own food are rewarded. The delivery drivers are rewarded but the actual customer that looks the team here in the eyes cannot phone in an order from one exit away. This to me seems liberal or woke and for that reason I am out. This is just meat, rice and vegetables. I can do this at home and better. I probably prepare my yum yum sauce the same way. That is mayonnaise, ketchup, and garlic. Wake up people. Stop being lazy. Go find yourselves some grass fed and or wagyu beef and do it right. Stop paying people to pick up your food. It ruins the quality of service. Grow your own vegetables too. Stop being lazy. Hannah’s in Pigeon Forge accepts phone in orders so I ordered from...
