Absolutely the WORST fast food experience in my life. The big freckled âredâ haired lady with tattoos at the window was tweaking hardcore. I ordered 7 Krystalâs and 3 orders of friesâŚ. You wouldâve thought I ordered 30 of everything on the menu. I could tell right off the rip that whoever was taking my order was under the influence of something as I had to repeat my order 4 times. As soon as I paid, I get asked to pull around to the front for âfresh foodâ. Immediately after pulling around I decided to go inside because I had a gut feeling we would be there forever. I then waited for THIRTY MINUTES in the lobby while no one was even at the counter to acknowledge me. For 25 minutes I watched people go outside and smoke, take break, and employees yelling at each other back and forth because mainly the tattooed freckled red head in the window couldnât function properly. It was disgusting. Finally, after 25 minutes and extreme anxiety I approached the counter and asked where my food was. They gave it to me a few minutes later by just setting it on the counter and walking away. Nooone EVER acknowledged my existence. I paid 25 dollars and spent even more minutes out of my life sitting there because deep down I knew that no one would even bother giving my money back. This was the most UNPROFESSIONAL place I have ever been to! I have NEVER left a review on Google but I had to this time in hopes that I save someone else the headache. Not to mention I had a child in a car seat for 30 minutes throwing a tantrum. This needs to be fixed or a petition needs to be started to completely clean house and start over with new management. Iâm trying to enjoy a nice vacation in the beautiful mountains. I just wanted some Krystal burgers and fries. Itâs sickening and completely inexcusable. The whole 30 minutes I was in the lobby I watched my 3 orders of âfreshâ fries sit there and get cold. So on top of it all, my âfresh foodâ was cold!!! My son couldnât even chew the fries because they had become so stale. Iâm obviously livid over the situation and Iâm sure with those types of employees management wonât even care but hopefully someone sees this and decides not to waste their time with this...
   Read moreMy family and I came to Gatlinburg for 4 days. This morning we headed back home to SW VA. Its become a tradition to stop at Krystal, to grab food for the trip home. We waited until the 10 am opening (according to Google), then pulled into the drive thru. No one came on to take my order. But I waited until nearly 10 min. After the 10am opening, just to be patient. Still nobody came on to take my order, so we drove off and went to McDonald's. There was an employee staring at me watching me drive past the drive thru window and off property of the restaurant. What poor customer service.
It's no wonder this fast food company keeps shutting locations with service and employees this poor. They had expanded into far Southwest VA and into my own city about 15 years ago. I loved having my own Krystal. But within the past 5-8 years, our location closed. And every year we drive to Gatlinburg it seems one more Krystal location closes its doors. There are no locations at all until you get the Pigeon Forge Gatlinburg exit now. I'm worried soon, these locations will close as well. And with this type of management and customer service, they deserve it. I guess I need to just admit this restaurant wasn't what it what 15-20 years ago. The guy at the counter took the order and didnât mention any problem. When we got our food, all of them had onions. Also, it took 30 minutes to get our food and the place was not very busy. We took it back and told the person at the counter. A woman working in the kitchen yelled âWhat? What is it?â The guy at the counter told them. The two women working the kitchen rudely yelled back with exasperated raised voices, âWe canât do that!â We explained that we have ordered no onions at Krystal for decades and never had a problem. More yelling ensued from the back. The guy at the counter tried to say that the burgers just couldnât be made that way. He said the staff could âtry to scrape offâ the ones we brought back in. So, all in all, a bad experience. Not only were they rude but they put my family memberâs health at risk by not adhering to a simple request.
