Goldie's — Restaurant in Seymour

I called Goldie's Tuesday morning, first time I ever went there. Spoke to a woman, I ordered french toast with bacon.

So I get my breakfast, I go to work, eat my breakfast and all was good. The french toast had a onion flavor to it, like they cooked it on the grill with home fires or something, it had a really nice subtle onion taste. The bacon was delicious, tasted like a honey smoked bacon or something like that.

So, why the 1 star review? Well, I liked the breakfast so much, I called today to get the same thing. Some dude answered. I asked for the same thing, french toast with bacon, and he said to me, "we do not make french toast here, it is not on the menu". I said, well, that is odd, I got it there Tuesday morning.

Then the gentleman proceeds to tell me that I am confused, they do not make french toast, and I must be looking at the menu for Goldie's in Florida. Ummm, ok, well I am in CT, I was in the Goldie's in CT Tuesday, and I kinda know the difference between a diner near my house, and a diner 1500 miles away.

So I am sure they have bread, and I am sure they have bacon, so rather than make my breakfast, the dude told me they do not make french toast, it must have been a special that day.

So, since the gentleman on the phone was nice enough to insult me, and insinuate I was too stupid to know what state I was in, I guess for the future, it is back to Tony's for breakfast.

Goldie's is a locally owned restaurant with great style and a feel like home atmosphere. Everything I have ever eaten from Goldie's is homemade and delicious. I especially love the chili, soups, pasta salads, breakfast sandwich's, lunch specials and I'm obsessed with there potato balls. First time I tried a potato ball was at Goldie's and I cannot get enough of them. And all the extra dessert items and snacks. Shannon, the owner is so awesome. She has a heart of gold. Excellent bacon, egg and cheese! For so long I’d be off to work at 6am and craving a bacon egg and cheese. But I didn’t want Dunkin or Starbucks. All I wanted was some fresh eggs off the grill and some CRISPY bacon. Well.. one day I drove by Goldie’s and I thought “maybe.. just maybe I’ll be able to satisfy this morning craving.” Sure enough!!
