Tony’s Burger Shop — Restaurant in Shaker Heights

Being a resident of the community and trying to patronize the area, I walked into the restaurant and was getting ready to order my food. When I walked up to the enlarged menu, I had a rude interaction with the server, I asked for the #8 burger on the menu, and I was told from the server that “This is not a McDonald’s.” I was taken a back by his response, by the person who was communicated to me because he made assumptions about where I would go to eat but also it made me feel humiliated as a customer whose first time coming in and also the last time. However as a senior citizen of Shaker Heights, I was hoping to come into this place and have a wonderful experience of enjoying a nice burger of what I exactly wanted, the interaction is not what I expected and I am highly disappointed at how he responded. When I received my food, I thought to myself that I should look into it and see exactly if things were correct but unfortunately all of the ingredients were not on my sandwich that I had specifically asked for. He forgot the lettuce, tomato, and pickles onto my burger. I will not be coming into this business again and I feel that people should be aware of possible future interactions of whoever decides to step into this establishment....

Was excited to hear about this place. And planned ahead to make a special trip. Upon entering it seemed a tad dirty and not cleaned up in a few days, I get it, it’s winter, but if you got time to lean you got time to clean. I love a small and easy menu with good stuff so yay. Kids loved their burgers and fries but they were out of Chx nugs. My burger was overall good. Nice fresh ingredients, perfect smash patty, sauce was good just needed more. The bun was too big for one patty but I barely finished my burger with the one. Not sure why the ketchup and mustard bottles were out and about but almost empty. My son was about to use the ketchup from those squeeze bottles and it looked bad. Guys cooking were cool. I’m glad we went but for the price and few nit pickety issues I wouldn’t go back. I’d rate this a 2.75. This was my first time here. My husband had saw the restaurant mentioned on social media. We don’t live far so we figured we’d try them out. The young lady who took our order was friendly and answered our questions. It was picking up as more people came in after us so we expected a small wait. We were taking our food to go. Not a long wait. About 15-20 minutes.

I got a single cheeseburger and it was to have a sauce on it. I couldn’t taste it. I added mayo and ketchup at home. The meat was burnt. The bun was okay. I ended up throwing the sandwich away.

The fries were nothing special. I liked the cut of them but they definitely needed salt and ketchup. They didn’t stand up on their own.
