Craft Collective, which is a side project of Cleveland Hts.'s Bottlehouse Brewery is a great bar. The space is open, inviting, clean, well-lit, and well managed. Bartenders are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. In my experience they really enjoy answering questions and working with customers to ensure they end up with just the right drink. (Conor, the bartender who looks like a viking, but who always has a big grin on his face, is a particular fave). Features include Bottlehouse's beers, ciders (including the burgeoning Gnarly Pippin splitoff brand), and mead, as well as well crafted cocktails and impressive amaro selection. The space is clean, bright and inviting.
The sort of "hidden gem" aspect of CC that I think some reviewers might miss is its non-Bottlehouse beer selection. Craft collective's ever changing tap list has Northeast Ohio hits that many may recognize, but it also regularly features beers that cannot be found outside their individual breweries. Short of a driving tour of thirty or forty breweries between Toledo, Dayton, Akron and Columbus, a visit to Craft Collective is the only way to experience the absolute best of what Ohio's rapidly growing beer and cider scene has to offer.
Craft collective is worth a visit for beer, cider, mead, and cocktail fans, and rates 10/10 for discovering you love something you had never even heard of.
P.S. Craft Collective, like nearly every craft brewery in the country, does not offer free samples of its beers. Ohio's best beer is small batch, and the artists who brew it can't afford to...
Read moreBeer prices are a ripoff... seriously? 9 dollars for a 16 oz?
Also, we went in around 2 p.m., not a single patron in the place with our baby sleeping in a closed covered stroller, and they wouldn't let us sit down because we had a kid. It's a shame because it's a nice space to hang out (hence why we used to tolerate the high prices before they got ridiculous), but why are you operating in an open district if you're going to have that attitude? For the record, we ate in the common area, and our newborn slept the whole time and didn't make a peep.
Worse thing is that this is a bottlehouse subsidiary... We like bottlehouse because they are a gathering place for the community open to all... What hypocrisy to exclude families.
Do yourself a favor and go support banter instead. $4.90-7.40 for a 16oz, and you're going to be sitting in the common area anyways if you...
Read moreBar offers nice selection of local crafts on about two dozens of taps.
There are local beers, ciders and meads.
Usually about a half of taps are from Bottlehouse brewery that is owned by the same owner. I remember Bottlehouse brewing amazing beers, and their products are still nice but this time they did not quite met my expectations. Today among half of dozen their beers I’ve tasted I could put 4+ Untapped rating for only one of them. Used to be at least every other one.
However there are also some good beers from other brewers.
Variety of styles is high, average quality is not bad and staff is...
