I had been a frequent customer of The Cajun Deli in Shakopee for a while now. So often that I made weekly visits to the establishment. I went in today and saw a lot of new staff. So my first question was “Does the same man from Louisiana still own this establishment?” Because I’ll be honest if they said no I honestly definitely would not have ordered food from there. Anyways, I ordered my food and got home to Chaska and the craw fish were WAY under seasoned! Not what I was used to from this restaurant. No worries. I called and told them about the issue and I took the $30 worth of crawfish back and they corrected the order. Even gave me a free Pop with it and I was very appreciative. But what I did not like, was that the crawfish were exceptionally smaller, yet still the same price. I’m not sure if they were lying about purchasing the establishment from the previous owner, but since I personally spoke with the gentleman from Louisiana who owned the establishment, the quality and size of the food tells me otherwise. I admit I’m VERY PICKY about my food when I am paying someone to prepare it for me. The Cajun Deli was one of my FAVORITE places to eat, before today. I am disappointed that the quality of the food has drastically changed. And I am a southern girl who absolutely Loves Her crawfish. The food just WAS NOT the same from my previous 12 visits. I most likely WILL NOT be back! This is the size of the crawfish that they sell here up north often, that’s why I do not eat them! But the gentleman from Louisiana ALWAYS gave you a great size and DEFINITELY worth the money.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant since good seafood boils are hard to find in Minnesota. When we arrived, a gentleman greeted us and asked if we were dining in. After confirming, he told us to seat ourselves, and someone would come to take our order. However, after waiting for a while with no service, I looked over my shoulder and saw the same gentleman, who then finally came to take our order.

I ordered the seafood boil with two lobster tails and a pound of shrimp. Since I didn't want potatoes, they substituted them with five pieces of corn. My wife ordered the number one combo, which included crab legs and shrimp. We both opted for the spicy seasoning since we weren't sure how hot it would be.

When our food arrived, the aroma was great, and everything looked appetizing. The shrimp and lobster were cooked well, but the lobster tails weren't cut properly, making them difficult to open, and even punctured my gloves. The corn lacked flavor, which was disappointing. Additionally, they only provided a cracker for the crab legs, and when I asked for scissors, he was going to offer me a box cutter.

The gentleman who served us was friendly, and the food wasn't bad, but given the 45-minute drive, I wouldn't return. The restaurant had only four tables, making it more of an express-style spot rather than a full dining experience. We also ordered Cajun fries, but they lacked Cajun seasoning, and the sauce provided didn't make up for it. Overall, it was an okay experience, but not...

Excellent food, I got the Shrimp boil headless, received at least 2 dozen beautiful shrimp plus a medium baby red potato and half sweet corn in a house style medium heat. Not an over powering heat for me. The server described everything to me and what came with and how it worked. It was fantastic. I would suggest ordering rice with any boil to soak up the fantastic sauces that they make there.. The price was $15.95 for over 24 great sized shrimp fantastic. It's hard to buy it at stores for that price.People there were very friendly, service was great. Thank you too the wait staff and the cook at the Cajun Deli. I'd call it a Little Cajun Cookery for it's a Deli too. They wait on the tables there also so I hope that the people are tipping the server for they bring your food, drinks, take your order at the table bring your check to you clean the table for you ask how your food is and everything a server at a restaurant would do for you. I think it's family 👪 owned and I'd really like them to make a go of it in this Covid World 🌎 of ours. The place was clean very small and the restroom 🚻 was unisex very clean also. Good Luck too you at the Cajun Deli. I'll be back....
