Impressively lost my business AGAIN. After a long hiatus due to disappointing service & quality (and a new, closer yet just as disappointing location opening closer to my house), tried them again a week or two ago, and it appeared that they had turned things around--but won't be back for quite a while after tonight.
Walked in, and saw that they did have a sign up saying online only--but a line of 8-10 people in line ordering food. Guy towards the front of the line saw me looking at the sign confused, gave me a look that indicated he saw the sign too, but everyone in line was still ordering a5-20 nd getting food.
After we got in line (my daughter specifically asked for Chipotle after hockey practice--I wasn't even ordering anything for myself), and as I tried pulling the app up on my phone--it wouldn't open, I assume because it's not compatible with iOS16, even after updating, I heard a woman in the cooking area call out that they were online only--and then tell the main burrito maker what sounded like "server through the last guy in line."
Kept trying to get the app to work while everyone else in line ordered--there was one guy behind us, but he was hanging back, so I assume he was ordering online. We get to the front of the line--as the last people looking to order--and they guy told us they were online only, and he wouldn't take our order.
After over a year of staffing issues at this and many other local Chipotles causing random times of online/drive through only, I think I'm done until they figure it out. Close early, or set specific online only times. Find a way to indicate before we come inside that it's online only. Find a way to actually close the line, not just a little sign that apparently no one is really going to follow until you decide to actually enforce it. Tell people in advance that you have no intention of serving them, rather than letting them stand in line for 5-10 minutes while serving other people, just to tell them no. And while I realize it's not this locations fault, fix your app so people actually can order online--and/or let your website take orders, rather than flipping over directly to the app that wouldn't work.
I'm seriously shocked that this location is still at 3.7 stars--it looks like virtually all of the recent reviews are less than stellar, and I certainly think now that the average service & quality I got when I went in the last time was the aberration, not the terrible service & quality that I got pre- and during...
Read moreI've frequented my local Chipotle on several occasions, typically around 7:30-8 pm, and each visit leaves me questioning if it will be my last. While the establishment closes at 10 pm, the state of cleanliness and order at this time is consistently questionable.
One of the primary issues I've encountered is the lack of tidiness. The floors often resemble a food fight aftermath, with a staff member sometimes pushing a broom aimlessly while engaging in conversation with a coworker. A heightened attention to cleanliness, especially during these peak times, could significantly enhance the dining experience.
The young staff at the counter are a mixed bag - they're generally polite, occasionally friendly, but frequently distracted. This lack of focus not only impacts the service but also spills into food preparation. Cross-contamination seems to be a common issue due to a disheveled service line, presumably left unattended post lunch or dinner rush. Such careless food handling practices could lead to potential health concerns, and I would strongly urge management to address this issue.
Now, it's not all doom and gloom. The food, when prepared correctly, is surprisingly tasty. However, the recurring issue of inaccurate orders somewhat dampens the enjoyable taste. The challenge of receiving your requested meal as ordered appears to be an unfortunate lottery.
To a potential first-time visitor, this Chipotle outlet might appear chaotic, inducing anxiety rather than a relaxed dining experience. The sight of the disorganized service line could even be slightly off-putting for some.
In conclusion, despite the tasty food, my experiences at this Chipotle branch have been marred by cleanliness issues, distracted staff, and potential cross-contamination. This review is a plea for improved staff training and stricter adherence to cleanliness standards, for the sake of regular and first-time...
Read moreI've been told by other Chipotle managers that the Shakopee Chipotle is the "joke of the region". My experience today made me believe it 100%.
I went there with my wife and kids today and was met by a sign on the door saying they were out of guacamole. What kind of manager lets their store run out of ingredients for friggin GUAC?!
The wife and I just shrugged our shoulders... Oh well, we could do without guac this time. So we order our usual two bowls and a kids meal and low and behold, they're out of trays for the kids meals.
Not only are they out of ingredients for guac but now trays as well. Wow. Oh well... let's get our food.
Now, here's where it gets interesting. If you order a bowl or a burrito you can get anything you want on the side for free except guac (which they don't have). Tortillas... Rice... Cheese... Whatever. They don't give a crap.
But, when you order a kids meal at the Shakopee location they wanna lay down the law like: "YOU ONLY GET TWO SIDES." I told them, I'm not getting any meat on my kids tacos, I think you can part with 2 more sides.
The employee got an attitude and said "No. You can only have two sides. Period."
I've been getting kids meals at this location and others for 3+ years and have never ran into this problem. It's utterly ridiculous that they'll give free sides for any bowl or burrito but when it comes to kids meals it's gestapo time.
So, on principle, we said screw it and left. Two bowls and a kids meal gone to waste because these idiots couldn't part with 2 tablespoons of cheese and sour cream.
We then went to the Chanhassen location and had absolutely no problem...
