Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Shakopee

Update for 6/17/2025: Well, it seems as though HyVee has finally laid waste to the venerable Market Grille. Those slum lord Wahlbergers definitely left their mark when they pulled out. This place still has the same stupid setup from before of ordering at the counter, no wait staff, a shotty drink dispenser, no supplies for the coffee, etc. The food portions were descent, taste like garbage, over salted, and peppered. We should have taken it as a sign that there were no elderly persons in this place for breakfast...meaning that this place sucks. Save yourself some time and a stomach ache and avoid this place. It's just not worth the trip. Very disappointing.

Thank Jupiter's Cock, Hy-Vee finally got rid of that garbage dump Wahlburgers. Hopefully the market grille will return to its previous glory and not carry over the shoddy service and poor quality food that made Wahlburgers an abomination. Time will tell. Service was excellent. Mother's Day Brunch. Eggs bennedict and omellette you order from waitress was sub par, less than teaspoon of hollandaise sauce on eggs bennedict and blah flavor, 1 thin deli small slice piece of ham, egg cooked to perfection. Omelette asked for extra cheese got none, had waitress bring some but omelette was cold so yuck..overcooked egg in omellette yuck. Prime rib was excellent but.. Carver got snarky when I asked for thick slice.. Got thick slice size of my palm, asked for another slice and he was upset and cut paper thin small piece.. Geez.. Not nice! Mac and cheese excellent and potatoes o'brian. Pancakes excellent. French toast was dried out and chewy. Bacon way undercooked. Sausage delicious. Biscuits and gravy delicious. Deserts were delicious. I love Hyvee, awesome customer service. The Pharmacy and staff are Superior. So the buffet was not up to Hyvee usual standard...

I like the ambiance and the staff were excellent. I've eaten here on many different occasions because all the great deals for great food. This day was half off sushi, so I get 2 rolls, 2 that I've had many times before. I did not receive those rolls and instead received 2 cold shrimp tempura rolls with sauce over it. The shrimp is usually freshly cooked and has a crisp to them, being they were just fried. These did not. Also, I took advantage of the $12 all you can eat wings deal. The wings were slightly undercooked and left blood in the tray it was in. It could have been a hard day on the cook, it is Easter Sunday, but bloody wings are unacceptable. But I would still recommend this place for bite to eat with the family. I think this restaurant has it's good side as well. Just don't go on busier days. Try it once and see for yourself. You might...
