Mrs. Goodman's Baking Co. — Restaurant in Sharon Township

I stopped in a few months ago on a whim after work and picked up some cookies and cupcakes due to pregnancy cravings (i have irish twins), and they were so incredibly good. When browsing for a smash cake for my oldest's first birthday, I remembered the quality and checked their site. I took a chance and bought a custom smash cake and matching quarter sheet, i emailed them my inspo photos and directed them on my vision for it, and my god they really captured it perfectly. It was insane how well they did. The party was today, on a Sunday and I had to pick it up on a Saturday but that was no issue at all, it actually gave me less to worry about day of. The total cost was $143, how it was broken up between the cakes i never asked as it was what I custom ordered. I got several compliments on the cakes, they also tasted amazing. The smash cake was strawberry buttercream icing and strawberry cake, while the quarter sheet was strawberry buttercream icing and chocolate cake. It was very moist, and the icing tasted like real strawberries and not artificial. I would STRONGLY recommend this bakery if you can swing it. You can definitely see by the photos of my sweet baby thoroughly enjoying a WHOLE slice. The service was also impeccable, the sweet lady that assisted me was very cheerful and even helped me carry out to my car. I will come back for my next cake order 🥰

(Only things that were changed from that email are I opted out of real strawberries as theirs were too big for the smash cake and the bakery was too far to drive to drop off smaller strawberries and i moved the text over to the sheet...

I was told about the amazing cinnamon rolls here so I stopped by. I realized after I got there and spoke to the lady who waited on me that this was the place I used to get pie's back in the days of the French Market at the Continent. I got 6 of the cinnamon rolls and a coconut cream pie. I would recommend putting the cinnamon rolls in the microwave for about 10 seconds and eating it warm....when eaten that way they are truly AMAZING. The thing I've loved in the past at Mrs. Goodman's was that they make their cream pie fillings fresh to order. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get a banana cream while I was there, but they did offer to go get the bananas and make me a pie. Instead, I opted for the coconut cream pie, since they had the ingredients on hand. While the pie did taste great, my issue would be that they had 2-3 times the amount of whipped cream in the pie as they did coconut cream. This is the only reason I rated the food 4 stars instead of 5. The employee who waited on me was very pleasant and when I asked for the icing for the cinnamon rolls on the side, she made sure to get me an extra large container of frosting. When I go back, and I WILL go back. I will get the banana cream pie to see if it's as full and delicious as I've always remembered it, and I'll absolutely get the cinnamon...

UPDATE, 6/10/2019: visited to purchase a pie for my husband, first time in since new management installed, and now, the interior is as scrumptious as the cakes! Adorable pastels and charming accent decorations accessorize a CLEAN and TIDY store front. So much more appealing! The full 5 stars! THE BEST BUTTERCREAM FROSTING in the history of the confection! The raspberry filling is delicious - not fake/pie-filling/goo, but real macerated fruit (the lemon curd ain't bad either, with more sourness than sweetness [which is what I want from a lemon flavor]). The cake itself is sweet without being cloying, and dense but not heavy (I know, sounds contradictory, but trust me, it's just tasty!). Mrs. Goodman's cakes cannot be beat, but if anyone wants to challenge me on that, let's head to the bakery! :) I've not given the bakery the full 5-star review because upon my last visit, the interior of the shop is (still) terribly uninviting, with outdated decor, low light, and an overall sense of slight grime. But hear me, people! - BEST CAKES...
