My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday at the recommendation of one of his coworkers. The atmosphere is like an old cottage. Antique tables and lace curtains. Not great, but not horrible either (although I could have done without the dead fly trapped in the lace curtain next to our table). Almost all the tables were full. There's very little in the decor to dampen sound, so it was rather loud.
My husband ordered the Caesar wrap with a side of fried pickles and I ordered the Asian chicken salad. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. Aside from taking our order and initially bringing our drinks, our waiter never checked on us. We had to flag him down after 30 minutes of waiting to ask how much longer our food would be. He apologized and blamed the kitchen for being slow. 10 minutes later someone else brought us our food, but the pickles were missing. When we asked about them, she seemed surprised and went to check on it. We nearly finished our entrees before we could catch the waiter again and asked about the fried pickles a second time. He brought them out a few minutes later and thankfully they were nice and hot.
The food was decent. The Caesar wrap lacked any strong flavors but was fresh. The Asian salad had plenty of chicken and was very flavorful, but lacked much of the 'crunchy noodles' described on the menu. It was oddly served with a side of club crackers. We were never offered refills on our drinks and while they tried to apologize for the delays and gave us a $5 gift card, I doubt we will be returning. I would have preferred they discounted the check instead of giving us a gift card (its seemed rather presumptuous to expect we would return after the slow/lacking service). If you decide to try them, plan for 1.5 hours at minimum. It's a shame their service was slow and lacking, they're going to miss out on business lunch clientele...
Read moreThis was the first time I’ve ever visited this cafe and after a quick check on Google we found parking easily in the back. Upon walking up to the front you are immediately greeted with an adorable cozy entry with tall chair seating/the main counter area. As we were lead to our table it opened up into a long sunroom. For drinks you start off with your own pitcher of water so you can refill at your leisure which to be honest, I wish more places would do. Overall the atmosphere was fantastic! Our waitress as well as many other staff were extremely courteous and thoughtful while checking up on us and bringing what we ordered. I decided to start off with a smooth and tasty blended caramel coffee. As for our food I chose the crème brûlée French toast and OMG! It is THE best French toast I’ve ever had, hands down! Not only was it crispy on the edges, the Texas toast as perfectly battered and cooked just right. The addition of the crème brûlée custard underneath added sweetness without being too sweet. It was served with a side of choice (I chose hashbrown casserole, delicious!!!) and a dollop of whipped cream with strawberries. My partner opted for the French dip and hashbrown casserole. All the food was super delicious and more than worth coming back for again especially in summer as they have very nice outdoor seating as well. If you’re looking for a new place to try, give this place a shot,...
Read moreThis place is super cute. It is much prettier on the inside than it is on the outside.Id even go as far as to say it was a hidden gem. I love that it is a family owned cafe. They have plenty of seating and me and a friend came when it was gloomy I can only imagine how pretty it would be on a nice day. Me and a friend came in past 2pm and they still were serving breakfast which I loved because that’s what we were in the mood for. I ordered a Classic Broke Yoke Sandwhich with turkey bacon and on sourdough and it was delicious. You can tell they use real eggs which I really appreciated. For dessert I got the cherry and cheese cobbler and it was one of the best desserts I ever had. The cake was nice and warm and had the perfect amount of cherry filling and was topped with whipped cream. The prices were pretty fair with the sandwhich being 13$ and the dessert being 8 and it was large enough to split with a friend. Upon arriving we were greeted immediately by a sweet young woman however our service by our server was ok….. I like to give the benefit of the doubt it wasn’t Bad: I’m not sure if he was new but on the other hand I completely understand as the service industry can be extremely draining . Other than that, everything was perfect and I would recommend the...
