If you're in the mood for some traditional Chinese cuisine, Chinese Imperial Inn is a great place to visit. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a cozy atmosphere that feels like you've stepped into a family-run business. This is indeed the case as the wife serves as the server and the husband as the chef. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by the friendly server who made us feel right at home. During our visit, we even had the chance to chat with the chef who came out of the kitchen to ask for our opinion on the food. The standout dish for us was the smelt which was simply amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes, including fried rice, soup, and seafood. To our surprise, the restaurant even offered authentic Vietnamese cuisine, as the server recommended the dish "Rau muống xào". Although we didn't end up ordering it due to the small portion size, it's still a rare find these days. In terms of the food's taste, everything was good but it might not be for everyone as taste is subjective. However, one thing to keep in mind is the prices which were on the higher side. Read moreVery nice experience. I worked late and walked in ravenous.... Within a instant of being shown to a table the kind waitress placed a pot of hot tea and crunchy chips and hot mustard and duck sauce before me. I ordered Triple delight w/ Fried rice. Quickly a large serving plate was presented with rice served in separate bowl. I could tell it was a huge portion intended to be eaten slow and savor the blend of podded snow peas, onion slices, carrot slices, slices of pork, shrimp, and chicken. So I sat back and took my time... There is a special art of blending a fine mixture of flavors, spices, ingredients, and textures to achieve a magical dining experience. It is a skill I will never achieve and it is something you have to experience for yourself. Halfway through my meal I had forgotten my daily trails and tribulations and drifted away to my lovely meal. I finished revived and refreshed from my day....I hope you can find and enjoy this fine place in your travels.👍👍❤❤ please 👍up my review if you...
Read moreIf you're ethnic, yet not a person of color please ask for the green color menu. You cannot go wrong! The food is consistently delicious and there's plenty of it! Yes, the place is not terribly clean (nor are the menus) or decorated sharply, but I'm not there for a fashion show, I'm there to eat some seriously delicious foods.
Sadly our family is relocating to Georgia at the end of the school year and our only child, who is a teenager on the Autism Spectrum Center said," But what about Cousin Yip's?!" , which is what we call Chinese Imperial Inn since Uncle Yip's was sold and no longer has the dishes and flavors which we CRAVE and are part of our fondest food memories.
Thank you for making our food memories available for us to savor ! We told our son that every visit back to Ohio we will eat at "Cousin Yip's" and his other favorite Dancing Roll, for 1/2 price sushi. Kid won't eat a hamburger, pizza, or any pasta or grilled cheese, but show him some rock salt squid or raw...
