Jimmy's Egg — Restaurant in Shawnee

A way off the Highway, Jimmy’s Egg was a surprise for a regional restaurant chain.

The food selection was quite large and tasted great. One of the biggest issues I have, nearly everywhere I go, is the portion size. most portions are so large you have to take them home or leave them as waste. Jimmys portion size was perfect. The proper amount of food for a terrific meal. I wish all restaurants would do the same.

Staff was lovely, sat us quickly, provided us ample time to review the vast menu for our choices. They brought food out is a timely manner (they made it to order so do not expect fast food speeds) cooked properly and tasted great. The server asked how we wanted our food prepared and everything was just as we wanted. Best English muffin I ever had.

I like my eggs basted and many people do not know what that means so I was pleasantly surprised when the server asked if they don't know how to make them that way is there another way you like your eggs. They came out basted but I appreciated the forethought, good servers know their job and this one was spot on.

I like to sit and enjoy my breakfast with my wife and we didn't at all feel rushed as she drank her coffee and I reviewed our plans for the day.

When I go out for breakfast I nearly always choose Jimmy's Egg. The people who work there are friendly and they get to know the regulars. Food is hot, made to order, and a good size portion for the money. The decor is nice and kept clean. I hate to go into a restaurant and see the decorations on the wall coated in grease and dust. I have been given the impression that this particular location (can't speak for all Jimmy's Egg locations) is good to their employees because their staff is normally happy, friendly, and know what comes with each meal (considering how many different ways you can order an omelette in this place that is impressive). The only complaint I have heard is from coffee drinkers and they say the coffee is more expensive than many places; however, these same folks also tell me the coffee at this restaurant is higher quality than what they receive at other places. I do not care for coffee so can't give an opinion. :D I think Shawnee is lucky to have this establishment. Oh, you do not need to dress up, it is very family friendly, and no matter what time I arrive the service is awesome. I visited this location on 9-25-22. This location is my favorite location out of all the Jimmy's Egg location & I have visited quite a few different Jimmy's Egg locations. This location is consistently clean & the service & food is the best out of several other locations I have visited. There are so many different choices on the menu that you can choose breakfast or lunch & they will be good. Just remember they close at 2:00 pm every day. I really like the waffles, eggs, ham & homemade white toast. My son prefers the chicken tenders & curly fries. I also like that they have a 55+ menu option & a wide variety on the Little Jimmy's Menu for those interested in smaller portions.

The waitresses here are friendly & I have found them to be attentive as they fly around like little busy bees. I choose to go out of my way to eat here as it is quite a drive from where I live but well worth the drive for me to come here and eat either breakfast or lunch depending on what I am...
