Old School Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Shawnee

Has a visitor from New York. I came to Oklahoma, to visit family. I was told to come trying, this bagel shop! I will never, ever, return to this store! I was not impressed, by the staff.. the store manager her, doesn’t listen to her customers! Instead she was dancing around store, wearing pajamas(Betty boop) and acting like, she Betty boop, bop bopping around! Like a little teenager!! My order was wrong, and when I tired to tell the store manager “Karen”!! I was told oh well that’s the order we made!! Really!!?? Tell me, how I was giving 6 bagels, in a bag no cream cheese, no nothing. (I order 6 cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese- 2 breakfast sandwiches, two iced coffee’s) I was charged for 4 coffees, when I only ordered 2.. when tired to explain this, to the manger “Karen” she gave a business card, and said have a nice day! Never fixed the problem or replaced order.. when I tired to call the number on the card “Karen” gave me. The number that was on the card, was no longer, in service!!! The service was disgusting, and the store manger, needs to grow up!! I will be making sure, my family and friends, in Shawnee Oklahoma, knows how disgusting this bagel store is.. again has a visitor from New York, to have this experience, in this establishment, was just another sign, of how, ignorant, and disrespectful the people of shawnee Oklahoma. So happy my family’s favorite bagel shop is back open again, and honestly, it seems to be consistently better than ever! I had never seen the restaurant and staff this clean and welcoming before, it’s like a totally new place but with the same amazing bagels and cream cheeses still too. Even the new decor and music felt fresh, intentional, and clean. I think all of their employees are new in addition to the new management too, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how smooth things seem to run already and that they all seem to actually enjoy working there! Huge fan of the bright, relaxed, and cozy vibe they have going on.

You can’t go wrong with the turkey avocado bagel sandwich, but a classic toasted everything bagel with plain cream cheese from here is just too good to beat. AND their snickerdoodle cookies and cinnamon rolls to grab for later (or for a sweet treat breakfast, you will definitely want these cinnamon rolls or muffins warmed up to have with your coffee lol)- seriously the best! Hoping they bring back the pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls again soon this fall, SO GOOD!

I want to say thank you to both the young ladies that worked here the last weekend of July. My husband and I came in for breakfast and ordered 2 iced coffees and bagel sandwiches. The first ice coffee I got was not sweet enough and over creamed to my liking and she offered to make another if I didnt like it beforehand. I think it might have hurt her feelings and I want to apologize. This is to you young lady, I want to let you know post covid in a customer service industry, where people do not care anymore, I applaud your willingness to want to make your customers happy. Please do not be hard on yourself, you were very nice and You are doing an amazing job and I wanted you to know that. Everything was amazing, the sandwiches were delicious.
