Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Shawnee

This location has struggled all week with long waits, even when not crowded. What took the cake for me is that today they weren't taking online orders or accepting payment other than cash. I opted to manually place my order anyway.

When I got to the window, they refused to honor the 50% drink coupon that is always active on the app. The manager talked like it was my fault for ordering too many drinks, so she couldn't honor the pricing. Then she said I should have ordered from another Sonic on the app, and then come to this store, and THEN they would have honored the price. I had 6 drink in total, and they couldn't remember what each was, and didn't use the buttons on top to keep them straight. I ended up having to mark my own drinks as the line grew behind us.

Sorry, but $20 for 6 drinks and awful service isn't worth it. I could have gone to the Domino next door for sodas and done better, but felt like I was essentially being held hostage due to agreeing to to cash order initially. I hate to say it, but I havent had a good experience at this location in some time and even though it is the only location on my route to the interstate, I will typically avoid it as much as possible. Nothing wrong with the staff, they are always pleasant, but they are waaaay understaffed, resulting in long wait times, cold food and/or orders being made incorrectly. Drive-thru times greatly vary, but usually result in a pretty long wait. If you use the app to order ahead, it's really no better than just ordering from a stall when you get there, as it still takes the same amount of time. This place is absolutely horrible! I wish I could give it zero stars because it don't even deserve one! I have been here four times in the last 2 years and all four times my order has been wrong. Today I was brought out the wrong order twice and then when I finally got the "right order" I get home to find out the gave us 2 "value" size fries (soggy as hell)....not the mediums we paid for & no cheese for our pretzel twists AGAIN! This was after waiting 25-30 minutes for 2 fries , 2 mozzarella sticks & 2 pretzel twist. The staff & management at this store are completely INCOMPETENT & have been for some time now. Do yourself a favor a go to the location by Shawnee Bowl...
