The BEST place to eat pizza or many other Italian dishes, sandwhiches, and fabulous salads. Price is moderate however, these days you get what you pay for (ingredient product quality) and its very obvious once you take a bite.
Customer beware! Do NOT think that the annual "Birthday" offer that is given to customers is any kind of "Good deal." It is NOT and sadly OSP makes it VERY clear just how NON important customers and thier birthday's are to them. Not to mention don't have a problem both insulting you or being dishonest as your intelligence is insulted.
What was once a free small pizza benefit has become a 10 dollar off coupon. The issue is, for customers who have literally grown up the last 30 years approx giving OSP thier business, including the free offer as part, or in my instance, the ONLY celebration of my birthday.
First, I didn't think I received the offer so I called and had thier manager tell me they hadn't sent out offers this year it was no longer available. (Girl with long black hair claiming to be the manager but ignored me 3 times when I asked for her name.) She refused to verify this with anyone else despite me asking twice and had zero issues hanging up on me mid sentence.
Once I found the coupon I called back and ordered a small pizza bringing it to her attention I had indeed gotten the offer. When I picked it up, she rang me up and I discovered it was not a free pizza after all and I still owed almost 10 dollars. I was shocked and embarrassed as I didn't think I had that much money to pay with.
Then it dawned on me that I could have ordered a large pizza and used the coupon on the website and gotten 5x the pizza rather than what I was getting. While I could have only used one coupon it would have been the smart; economical decision.
I also asked this lady to please use the points I had available to bring down the balance and she didn't even check muchless apply anything.
When I voiced feeling taken advantage of, she said nothing and stared at me like I was trying to cause problems. Not even a "Thank you or Happy Birthday." Which I assure you was not so happy thanks to her quality or lack thereof service and no desire to see I didn't leave with a pizza that was over cooked on top of it all.
Not the service I have grown accustomed to therefore my family and I will be moving on after...
Read moreWhen I leave a review it’s always a 1 or 5 star that I’ll leave. This location needs a zero. But that’s not an option. My niece ordered 2 medium Tuscan chicken pizza and a half order of wings. I get there and realize the mishap and says I needed it to be 1 large. Informed the young girl that I would pay for it but wouldn’t take it and that they could donate it. She then tells me no no, we can make you 1 large Tuscan chicken. It would just be another 20-30 min. I said ok. That’s fine and didn’t mind waiting. I waited the 30min. Gist my pizza and wings and head home…. 30 min away off of 159th and 69 hwy. I open the box and the pizza looks re heated with added mushrooms and some sort of sausage. It looked like they put the 2 mediums pizzas together added the mushrooms and sausage with more cheese and reheated it. None of which comes on a TUSCAN pizza. We call Old Shawnee and spoke to a male manager name Detrick, share with him what I share with all of you. He says he will send me a coupon to replace the pizza next time. I tell him, No. this pizza isn’t edible and that I’ll be coming back to get it replaced and refunded for my inconvenience. He said ok. I get there and the pizza is ready. Looks half cooked. Now I’m livid. I tell him refund me completely and I’ll go to the location in Nieman… He called and told them my name. I called, placed the order. They said.. oh is this bleep! Smh
You Nieman, get one star because you should have handled the situation better. You don’t know what I had to deal with with Detrick. His attitude and customer service was piss poor to say the least. But let me show you what that did. The first pizza you’ll see is Lenexa the Trash. The second pizza is from the Nieman location. We kindly donated that pizza to the homeless and went...
Read moreMixed feelings with this review. I first discovered old shawnee pizza during restaurant week 2018 before the pandemic. My wife and I stopped in for their lasagnia and chicken Alfredo. And we loved both. 5 stars. A gem we never new existed. So through the pandemic we continued to support this location and every few months I would order their lasagnia and my wife would explore their menu. In 2020 she had a bad experience and no longer wanted me to order her food, but i still loved that baked lasagna. I wanted to introduce my god daughter to their lasagnia, she was a fellow Italian fan, who has enjoyed little Italy in both Boston and New York with me. I bragged about how good old shawnee's was... we ordered 2. They provided pleanty of their amazing garlic bread. That being said. I Will not be going back ever again, there was zero noodles it was all meat sauce and super salty. She thought I was pulling a fast one on her. And neither of us finished our meals.
Update 2023, i returned to try their pizza and still lackluster disappointed. The atmosphere looked the same as it did in 2016 and 2017. No change in 5 years.
While the staff was friendly when i called in a pizza order i was not explained the sizes. So when i picked up my large pizza that was smaller than a medium pizza at all your chain resteraunts i was super suprised at the premium 27.00 price point that i was paying.
Now if the taste had slapped i would understand a premium price point. The cheese was nice and the sauce did mix well but the dough was flavorless and crisp like stale breadcrumbs no soft crunch combo that you expect from a new style greek or thin crust pizza. And for that i give old shawnee pizza a...
