Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Shawnee

First time visiting the new location in our neighborhood. It is a cute little shop & they have cake pops. But when I ordered a chai tea latte they informed us there is no espresso included in the latte and would I like to buy individual shots for the chai tea latte? What? 👀

I had to pay extra to have espresso included in my latte, which is odd. This is the first coffee shop I’ve encountered that doesn’t serve espresso in their lattes. Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t lattes espresso with steamed/frothed milk? I even googled latte ingredients prior to posting this review. It says a latte is “A type of coffee made with espresso and hot steamed milk.”

When I asked what was in Scooter’s regular lattes, the barista informed me it was just steamed milk. Does Scooter’s sell all lattes without espresso or just the chai tea latte?

A chai tea without espresso is just a chai tea. A chai tea latte is a chai tea with espresso. Except at Scooter’s where drink ingredients are served a la cart.

I bought two shots for the hot chai tea latte and it was very good and had a great temperature for a hot chai.

I’m unsure how much the drink cost after the requested two shots of espresso. I didn’t get a receipt but the total of the entire order was $12.15 for a medium chai tea with 2 shots of espresso, one cake pop, and an iced tea.

I’ve been to Scooters a few times, I like to get a feel of the place before I make an informed review. The customer service is always stellar, which is great because it’s hard to find that now a days. The line always moves quick! The coffee is good but it doesn’t matter what flavor of coffee I get, it all taste the same, it all tastes like sweetened espresso. The two breakfast sandwiches I’ve tried were delicious, but stay away from the breakfast burritos, Taco Bell makes better breakfast burritos. The tortilla is gooey and the inside of the burrito is so soupy the egg looks like ground yellow meat. It was mediocre at best, I feel ripped off because I paid $4 for it and I only took one bite and couldn’t stomach the rest. I’ll probably stick to my regular...

The staff are amazing and so are the drinks! But I do not recommend working here because you are standing up your whole shift with no lunch breaks. The district manager is awful and is always breathing down your back when making drinks. He’s also very rude to his employees and if you mess up a drink or aren’t making 5 drinks at the same time fast enough he will just end up firing you. In a matter of working there for about 2 weeks 4 of the staff ended up quitting all in week time period. Not to mention just in my short time working there multiple other workers where talking...
