On Nov. 21 2020 we went to Sunny Side Up restaurant to have breakfast. After the governor ordered restaurants to have limited seating we felt a little safer. When we walked in the very first thing we noticed was many of the tables were shoved together. Yes they had blue tape on them. But were shoved together in a long line. Went the waitress asked us for our order. I asked about the table spacing. She immediately went to the owner Gary. He does not like to be questioned on the right or wrong of things. He doesn’t want open carry. He wants to do what ever pleases him. Well I think most things are okay in that manner until you start to endanger others. Me and my wife just got over COVID-19 a few weeks ago. It was very rough on us both. We still are feeling the side effects of it. So yes I want to be very careful with my health. So you can call me a snow flake or anything else. But I have children and grandchildren. I do not wish to endanger there health at all. I have pictures of these tables being pushed together. I think they serve great food with good service. But I do pay for it when I leave tips...
Read moreI think the negative reviews sum up my experience. The food isn't terrible, but once you get a $10 meal, plus $3.50 for cheap diner coffee, then add a tip, you are out $15-$20. For the quality, it's just not worth it. Everything is expensive these days, but I'd rather pay the same price and go to Jimmy's Egg, or even fast food would be better. Will I voluntarily go back? No. If a group of people want to go together, I'd definitely recommend another location but Sunny Side Up isn't so bad I couldn't eat there again. I will say many people love it, so you'll have to try it yourself. I would bet that as long as the service (wait staff AND management) is good, you'll be happy and think my review is crazy. But once you feel like they don't want you there, the light will flip on and you'll think back to the cost and quality and go "it's just not worth it". Shout out to Valerie who never gave me bad service, in my book she is the star of Sunny Side Up,...
Read moreEdited post: Second visit did not go so well at all. Food was okay. My potatoes were a little burnt, but still edible. Steak was cooked correctly. The coffee was great. But the problems started when I was eating my biscuits and gravy. I found two shards of what looks to be glass, in my gravy after I had already eaten over half of them. My good experience ended right there. I told my waitress and she asked me if I wanted them to remake them. I said no. And that was the end of any service that I got for the entirety of my visit, period! Even when I checked out, no discount offered at all for the issue which still isn't the problem either. They didn't even ask me at the register if my food was okay or anything. She gave me a total and I paid. No "thank you", no "have a great day", NOTHING!! I will never return or advise any of my friends or family to...
