Great food and great service!! Highly recommend!!

Best place in Shawnee for lunch... Back in September my husband’s grandmother came to visit from Colorado. She has severe Dementia and has not traveled by air in over 20 years. She was having an off day due to change of scenery and people. So we decided we would do a little shopping and have lunch to help her. The shopping never happened. However, she insisted she wanted to take me to a “fancy” restaurant. For me to pick anywhere I wanted. It was close to 2:30pm when we decided we would eat at the owl shoppe. We go in and it’s just her and I no other customers in the restaurant as they were closing very soon. I was so nervous.. first I wanted her experience to be perfect and I didn’t want to strain the restaurant staff. It was the absolute best experience ever. She was so excited to eat there and she would give orders around to staff and they would just jump to it over and over to make sure her experience was great!! This warmed my heart so much the kindness and understanding the staff showed us. Thank you Owl Shoppe for being our favorite lunch spot and going above and beyond for your costumers. Your staff is compassionate and wonderful. I highly recommend!!! Great Job!!! Oh and she said the food was amazing and she speaks the truth...

I’m giving 5 stars only because I’m not allowed to give The Owl Shoppe SIX stars! Traveling through, we’re glad we found this place, and am sorry we don’t live here so we can try more of the menu. Don’t be fooled by the simple storefront on the outside. Inside, you will find cleanliness, hospitably wonderful service, and AMAZING food! The quality of food and portions make the price extremely reasonable. The Italian roast sandwich special was one of the best I’ve had in years, the Jalapeño chowder was straight out of a Michelin five star! Went to Shawnee on a whim and did a quick google search of restaurants. I picked the Owl Shoppe because it was not a chain and I was definitely pleasantly surprised with what I found. The building is surprisingly spacious on the inside, which means the tables are nicely spaced apart. The menu has a vast variety of foods, ranging from vegan to "I love meat!" There is an actual chef cooking actual food. Everything is fresh. The staff is incredibly friendly and will take food allergies into consideration. Excellent find. If you live far from Shawnee, like I do, this is perfect for a day out date, friend trip, or just get-away...
