Bibliotech Books & Comics — Local services in Shawnee

There are only good things to say about this comic book store. With an expansive library of new and old books alike I have found a couple of literary gems, the type of selection that lets you find an odd book that piques your interest. I myself have done a lot more reading as a result of my purchases from this store.

We haven’t started with the comic book/trading card game side of the store yet. You will find comic books, magic the gathering cards, and dungeons & dragons content new and old alike. Not only a reliable spot to catch the new release for Magic and Dungeons & Dragons, but you will be introduced into the larger board game scene as a whole, as you’ll find reliable choices like Scythe and Catan for board games.

The store owner is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, and for 30 years has been a staple for this community. Almost 10 years ago when I first stepped in completely new to this nerdy scene, the store owner took the time to guide me and my friends on how to get into some of the games he had on display. Ever since then I’ve been able to step in and seek advice on a wide variety of topics and game questions. The effort this store has taken to foster the love of trading card games, books, and table top RPGs has let me explore one of the best hobbies I’ve ever been a part of.

Good location, just inside town. But parking can be tricky some days.

The staff are very knowledgeable on books, comics, and games offered there in. Staff are generally warm, friendly, and are willing to strike up a conversation. (Usually on the wares they are selling.)

Selection is fine, most books are in good or better condition. Their comics are well indexed, curated, and protected. Although welcoming the atmosphere is quite and empty at most times of day.

However, Bibliotech is a good place if you play Magic the Gathering on Friday evenings, but lacks other player bases.

I have gone here for years to pickup comics, manga, Dungeons and Dragons, and Magic cards. I have gotten to know the staff well and typically order books through them.

Overall, Bibliotech Books & Comics is a fine store for the size of community it is in and has done well for itself. But could be better if given competition or...

I love this place for all of my nerdy needs ❤️ People here are very friendly and helpful. I remember first hearing about this place and I came up there with my niece on a Sunday not knowing that they were closed on Sundays (I didn't even check). I was disappointed and when headed back to the car, one of the workers stopped us and asked if he could assist us. I informed him of our situation and he then allowed us to make a card purchase! He was so nice. I thanked him many times and my niece and I went home, giddy over our new dice. Very...
