My husband and I came here for the first time last night… I had never heard of it before, but I googled it “vegan options near me” and BoMallies showed up! It was just about 10 minutes until they closed, but I said to my husband, “let’s just go and check it out - even if we don’t get served.” The alternative was going to Qdoba since it was almost 9 pm. We walked in, and the chef and waitstaff invited us to sit down, despite it being so close to closing. I ordered the most delicious mocktail, the Asian salad (vegan), and the Vegetable Green Curry (vegan) — don’t judge — I’m 8 months pregnant, but it was a ton of food, and I’m looking forward to eating the leftovers today. For me, it was the best Asian salad I’ve ever had… very fresh and flavorful with fresh apples, cabbage, peanuts, in a sesame and sweet chili sauce. I don’t typically have super high expectations when I go to an “American” restaurant and order an ethnic dish, but the Vegetable Curry was out of this world! The flavors were spot on, fresh ingredients… you can tell that every dish was homemade, not something that felt like it was frozen first, or sitting out, if you know what I mean. My husband indulged in the complimentary bread and pesto… he said it was the BEST pesto he’d had in his life. It was so fresh… nothing like what you’d buy in the grocery store. For his main dish he ordered the Truffle Mac & Cheese. Calling it “Mac & Cheese” seems like a disgrace to the dish… it was a beautiful presentation, cooked to perfection… he was full, but needed just one more bite, because it was that good. He said that the food “was so good it was memorable.” As a result, he wants to try everything on the menu! Haha
We can both say with confidence that this has been the best food we’ve had in a while… maybe in the state of Wisconsin! Kudos to the chef, and inspiration behind all of the fantastic...
Read moreMy Wife, kids and I went here tonight for dinner 7/9. We LOVED IT!!! We had Hollie as our server, also the owner. She was great. Had wonderful, inviting personality, you can tell there is such a passion for what she and her husband (the Chef) do. We started with two orders of their potstickers, SOOO GOOD! Perfectly crisp but with a lil chew, great hoisin sauce. And had the pesto as well. I gotta say it was some of the best pesto I’ve had. It was the “Besto” haha. I also had the Hanger steak with red wine Demi Glacé, grilled broccoli and roasted garlic farro. PHENOMENAL!!! Steak cooked to a perfect medium rare, the farro had just the right firmness to it, with a beautiful, creamy garlic flavor that was not strong at all. Great Job Chef! Wish I cloud have told you personally, but I do know what it’s like to get pulled out of the kitchen during service. My Wife had the Cheesesteak and loved the amazing, juicy seasoning on the steak, perfectly toasted bread smooth and creamy, melty, cheese and great seared red bell peppers and caramelized onions. Makes me hungry again thinking about it. My three kids straight devoured their burgers, and they are picky about burgers for sure. I haven’t had my parfait yet cuz I’m still too full. But my family LOVED the Strawberry Shortcakes. My wife and I are in the hospitality industry, owning our own restaurant, so we know what it takes to achieve such great service, and we do have quite high standards. Well they hit all the marks in our book, so well done Bomallies and crew WELL DONE. You are definitely worth the 30 min drive. You will see us...
Read moreWe went to BoMallies last night. It was a first time visit for me, but not for my partner. It has a very eclectic atmosphere with very interesting art that hangs on the walls in the eating and waiting area. My overall impression was a fantastic experience. Our server came to the table and explained that the food is delivered as it is prepared and is “shareable.” I didn't understand what she meant by “shareable” asked what she meant. She stated the food is delivered in small plates and that it is meant to be shared amongst the guests at that table. There were 4 people in our party and she suggested ordering 6 entrees. We ordered 7.
The food was incredible. Everytime a new entree was delivered to the table it was like a new experience full of robust and subtle flavors at the same time. The flavors are so good that you want to “lick the plate clean” of any of the sauces or glazes left behind!
Plain and simple this is a must go to restaurant if you are in the Sheboygan area. It is a little more expensive, (entrees range from about $18 to $30 dollars), but you will enjoy every bite! It is recommended you get reservations,...
