First of all - NO. FOOD. HERE. Ouch.
Could be a 5-star brewery with some simple changes. It was 41 degrees outside at noon, and the garage door is partly open, blasting freezing air into the taproom. If they’re trying to rush people out after one beer, they succeeded. Flights are only served 3 to a person in 3-ounce pours. Why? I’ve been to 50 breweries during the pandemic, and only a few have been so scaled back. And couldn’t get another one of these tiny flights. If they’re trying to not let people sample their other beers, they succeeded. Lastly, it’s too bad they don’t have TVs in the main large room. Football sundays near Green Bay, and can’t even watch games while having a 3-oz beer unless you go to the little separate area. Quite lame, and it’s the reason my friends and family frequent other bars and breweries. Apparently the mission is to “talk to people while you drink”. Yeah...that’s exactly what people do while they watch football and other live sports. Missing a golden opportunity here. The beer is very good, one of the 10 best breweries in Wisconsin in terms of flavor and overall quality. You won’t be disappointed in the taproom variety. The flavors are extremely good. The only beer that didn’t live up to expectations is the Milkshake IPA. Huge disappointment, seems like they’re still learning how to do it. When it comes out clear and easy to see through the glass, you can tell the flavor is nowhere near that of others that do it right (Eagle Park, Central Waters). A proper, flavorful Milkshake needs that deeply hazy and creamy look and taste. This one was just an IPA, nothing “milkshake-y” about it. Weird since their other beers are so well done. 4 stars, so you won’t be disappointed overall, but room for...
Read moreI stopped in at 3 Sheep's after a morning at Kohler Andre State Park around 11:15am on a Saturday. The Badgers were playing Alabama so a few people were watching the game on the far side of the seating area. Note this isn't a sports bar and they don't feature TV's, so don't come here expecting it to be your personal living room. I grabbed one of the 8 bar stools and was quickly served by two friendly bartenders. I sampled a few brews and ended up with a Saison, Oktoberfest, and the Armchair Quarterback. The first two were excellent, the third was fine.
By 11:45 the place was getting really busy and the bartenders were slinging flights like nobody's business. I've never seen a place pour so many flights before. The beers are priced very reasonably, at $6 or $7 a pint for standard beers and $9 for 10 oz barrel aged beers. The flights were priced by the individual 5 oz pour at $2 or $3 a piece.
I had researched ahead of time and they don't serve food, but you can bring in your own, like the family whose kid dropped his Culver's soda before they sat down or ordered anything. Classic. There was a band getting set up for live music which was going to be happening in the evening. There was also a large cooler for take out beers which seemed to be popular with the locals. I would recommend stopping in for a pint or 3 if you are...
Read moreI am giving 4 stars because I like the beer. We made the drive yesterday from Madison (9/11/2020). My husband was wearing a mask and I had a clear face shield on that I wear per my doctor. We went to order and there is plexi glass up at the bar and the staff are wearing masks as well. My issue/complaint comes with how one of the ladies behind the bar behaved. When it was our turn to order, she took a deliberate large step back and we could not understand anything she was saying and I repeatedly had to ask her what she was saying. She treated us like we had the plague and I can only assume it was because of my face shield because we did not see her behave this way with other customers. She was extremely rude as well when taking our payment. In my opinion, if your staff is that afraid of someone with a face shield on, while they are wearing a mask themselves, and are working behind plexi glass, they should not be working. They may want to re-evaluate where they are working in general. I think we can all agree the virus doesn't disappear once I take my mask off sitting down. Needless to say, we have made many trips here in the past and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the beer and food trucks, but after yesterday, I am not so sure we will...
