Russell Barbecue — Restaurant in Sheffield

Ok lemme just start by saying I usually don’t do reviews until I’ve eaten at a place 3, so I can get multiple chances to get a full experience of a place. First off the customer service has been great both times I was there. Friendly staff answers any and all questions and hasn’t gave me a bad recommendation yet. Even have spoke to the owner both times didn’t realize it the first time but now I know he cares about what he puts on these plates and the quality of food customers consume while dining here. I am by no means a turkey guy I don’t eat it on thanksgiving BUT today I tried the smoke turkey and lemme tell you my opinion has changed flavorful juicy tender and the smoke profile was amazing. Chicken was good ribs have been great both times. The smoked bologna was amazing and i don’t eat everybody’s smoke bologna. If you’re ever in the shoals head over to Sheffield and try this place out. Wow! Just wow. Texas-style meets the Midwest for a beautifully smoked, moist, and most importantly flavorful BBQ combo. When I said I wanted some barbecue today, I did not expect to get treated to some of the best barbecue I've had in ages!

We had the brisket sandwich and the turkey sandwich with a side of their cheddar potatoes. I could write paragraphs dedicated to their brisket sandwich, and I'll dream of their turkey sandwich tonight. I didn't get to try much of their cheddar potatoes because they were stolen and devoured by my daughter, who said, "Best taters ever!" But from what I did get to taste, I'd have to agree with her.

If you want to treat yourself to something delicious and enjoy great and fast service with a lovely family friendly dining atmosphere, I couldn't recommend Russell...

INCREDIBLE. There honestly is so many positive things I want to say about this place between the mouthwatering food and the awesome service, but the way I have seen the owners move into town, and absolutely go out of their way to love and support our community the way they do, makes it that much easier to support them. Everyone is so down to earth and fun to talk to every time we come in!

And DO NOT get me started on them cookies, we fight over them in this house 😅 I’ve tried them all but that banana pudding cookie recipe needs be guarded like the krabby patty secret formula☝🏻 you will not taste a better cookie anywhere, ever, and if ya do I’ll buy it for you myself.
