Consistent customer service and even better products. In another life the location was under the umbrella of Broad River Coffee Company, which admittedly, did a great job with the location -for a time that is.
However, in 2014 the business is under new management and new owners and I must say I am very much impressed with the changes. The Copper Rock staff are extremely mindful of their customers and the tastes they love (as well as the prices). They understand that not all of their customers can pick up on the subtle differences in the coffees they offer and are more than glad to educate the customer. Which I truly believe is the keystone of their business. Education and helpfulness.
Too often have I been to coffee shops and felt talked down to or ignored because I was unaware of the subtle differences mentioned above. Think about how you feel being in line at [Insert Big Coffee Chain Here] while everyone in front of you describes intricate lattes or cappuccinos, etc. while here you are clueless, just wanting a cup of Joe yet the barista makes that seem impossible.
You will never experience that here. TRC seems to aim for the everyday customer yet still appeal to those customers like myself who see coffee in line with wine or whiskey, something to be savored and enjoyed. Overall the vibe of the coffee shop is great, educational if you want to learn more about what your drinking or eating (definitely try the baked goods offered), and a great hometown/local feel as well.
Two thumbs way up...
Read moreMy fiancé and I wanted to try a new, local coffee shop and this is where we ended up! The cozy looking atmosphere from the photos online are what drew us here and it met those expectations! The indoor seating area was cozy and comforting as well as the outdoor seating (which is what we really want, the weather was amazing). The only downside was about half the tables outside were extremely wobbly are very difficult to keep our coffee on. We ended up using the wood railing which was fine but it would be great if the tables were stable. My fiancé loved his coffee, he got a large caramel cold brew as well as a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter. They were out of cream cheese which he was a little disappointed and when he received his bagel it was cold so the butter didn’t go on well at all. I got a medium hot hazelnut, vanilla latte which I ended up not liking very much so my fiancé switched it for a hot caramel macchiato which was a little better. He said they were very nice about it when he asked them to remake something else for me which I really appreciated. That staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very enjoyable so I will consider going back and just trying...
Read moreNot something I would write home about. We enter the other day and it was subpar. I am not entirely sure why everyone is raving about it. I went in and ordered a vanilla latte and it came out being heavy on the vanilla and light on the espresso. The milk wasn't the right temperature. I ended up throwing it away after a few sips.
I will say that the owner did take a store that was on the brink of failing(Broad River) and turned it into a stellar little coffeehouse. The history attached to it was toxic and I am so glad that it doesn't have that horrible feeling. It is decorated beautifully but outside of that there is nothing reall AMAZING about it.
I would probably come back only to have a cup of coffee and if I was in a pinch and not near my normal...
