About a month ago I finally decided to give this Shelbyville restaurant a try after it opened in the old Pizza Hut location. Dragged my feet going there, I think because their signage out front kind of put me off a bit as it looked cheap and was hard to read. I liked it so much I ate there three times in the past month. Could not wait to bring my family in as I knew they would enjoy it. The vegetarian pizza we had was excellent. I think all of their pies are thin crust, which is fine by me. They have a large variety of sandwiches and I intend to try most of them over the coming months. The two I tried so far were very good. Prices and portions were a little kinder than many full-service restaurants these days, and I thought it was a good value dining experience.
I did not realize this was a franchised business (as noted on the menu), but it has a very nice local vibe, with old 1950's-1970's sitcoms and cartoons shows playing on numerous tv that were a nice change from the usual sports and news shown at many places. While not a lot was done to update the Pizza Hut dining room, it felt very welcoming to me. I like this place a lot so far. It reminds me of the late, great Westport Road Village Inn Pizza place that I loved so much back in the . . . 1970's. Geez, I am so old these days, but at least I can still remember great pizza joints like that, and I hope Giovannis becomes a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had just gotten off of the road from a long trip and were looking for something better than fast food but not as long of a wait as dine-in. When we arrived, they were finishing up what looked like a party and it was a little hectic. The staff was friendly with greeting us. The wait was 5 mins, which was perfect. When we got seated and the order was taken, it took what seemed like less than 5 minutes for the first pizza to come out. It was loaded. For the price of a 10" that I'll be eating for lunch tomorrow, I'm all about it. The unfortunate part is that the party that was a little chaotic, ran the printer paper out and the rest of our 5 party order was half dropped and half replicated from that previous party. However, what impressed me was that the staff immediately apologized, explained the situation, corrected the meal, and made it better for us. We received several apologies, from different staff members willing to take the blame, and while we waited just as long as we would've at a different dine-in, their ridiculously good pizza, welcoming staff, and quickness to rectify the situation won over 5 more customers. Eat at Giovanni's and don't give your money to restaurants who could care less about how the meal comes out. I'll be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were so excited to see that Giovanni's had reopened. Oh my goodness I got what was an equivalent of a 16-in supreme pizza and you can pretty much see the crest through the thin layers of toppings! Yes I will be calling tomorrow because I hope I can return the leftover gift card I have. We will not be back. I hate that this was our favorite pizza from anywhere! So this pizza was supposed to have sausage pepperoni sweet banana peppers mushrooms onions and it seems like one other thing that I can't remember now or can't find on the pizza. Wish me luck that I can get a refund on my gift card but something tells me I can't. š. So today we got a new order. And instead of being able to eat an entire 16 6 topping pizza that we've never been able to do before. Today was a whole different game. It was the pizza that we have previously had. Absolutely delicious I cannot thank you enough , we still have our favorite pizza spot. Once again...
