My first time to Koffee Beanz this morning (01/31/21). The food, service, and atmosphere was very good for a quaint coffee shop. I had met 3 friends for breakfast. We were talking and catching up since we had not been together for a while. Our $40.00 bill was paid before we finished and with a $20.00 cash tip to the great waitress. At about the one hour mark of our time at our table the gentleman working there came and started removing our not empty glasses without asking if we were through. We all remarked that was rude but we had not finished a conversation on a specific subject and then continued on our conversation. A few minutes later the same man walked up and asked us to leave as "this is our busy hour". Again, incredibly rude. As we left the table and business there was no one waiting to be seated nor even laving their cars to go in to the business. I say this as having traveled all over the world most of my adult life "coffee shops" operate on a fairly simple business matrix with or without them selling food. It is a low key, relaxing, and peaceful place for friends to gather and enjoy each others company without time conditions of being seated unless it is closing time. As the prices of the foods and drinks reflect this is is NOT a fast food restaurant. It is more of a gourmet experience by all physical representations. I am not asking people to not go to Koffee Beanz I am asking the business owner/s to please place a notice that there is a time restriction for paying customers to sitting in the business if there is one. If there is not a time restriction please retrain your staff that what we experienced was very rude, unprofessional, and uninviting. To Koffee Beanz, since there have been other complaints regarding this same scenario thank you for properly clarifying this matter so that actual paying customers know your expectations so that we can make our visits friendly...
Read moreA rare and unfortunate experience that I've never experienced before.. I'm from out of town, and here for work. I've come to the coffee shop several times over the past week and sat with my laptop for a few hours. I always eat, get a coffee, and tip 40-50% because I sit for a while. The first few times I felt unwelcome, never getting even a smile from the staff. Today was my last time visiting (though today I had a different waitress and she was a sweetheart). Around the lunch hour, I was kicked out by the owner. He told me he needed my table - there was NO ONE waiting, 3 tables unoccupied, and other individuals there working on their laptops, as well as a pair of women who had been there as long as I had. I was also about to order lunch and spend more of my money, but he had other plans, and hoped to make a buck off of customers that weren't even there yet.
Where I'm from, a location that's marketed as a coffee shop (especially with free wifi) has tables open to the public and they are invited to make it their home office for the day without complaint. Can't wait to go back to the coffee shops in my home state. So much for "southern hospitality."
Know before you go: he must have a timer on you the moment you sit down and dollar signs floating over your head. Plan on eating as fast as you can and leaving so he can turn tables rapidly and not bother forming lasting customer...
Read moreVery disappointed !!! i finally found a place here in shelbyville that actually makes eggs benedict , but the dish was an absolute FAIL , i pulled up to get my food and the waitress , who was very nice btw , was holding my food in the bag like it was groceries , so needless to say , the hollandaise sauce was of course leaking out the bag , the eggs were fully overcooked , not at all what i was expecting or paid 13.00 for , the price wasn't an issue because ive been looking forward to this dish for quite awhile , if the eggs would have actually been cooked properly and the food served correctly there would be no need for this review , so i suggest learning the proper way to make poached eggs or just completely remove this from the menu not at all what eggs benedict is supposed to be especially for the price !!! UPDATE !!!!!!!!!! yes i just got off the phone with Robert and he asked me what he could do to fix the situation , my response was to make sure the eggs were poached correctly ,according to him they "usually are " "its sounds like ive had a bad experience with there food " but that he's also busy and right in the middle of lunch !!! so more or less he really wasn't concerned about the food or service he could really care less and seemed quite bothered that i called with a complaint !!!! you'll never get my business again !! Thanks Robert for all your...
