I'm local and took my sons here for breakfast. I've raised my boys to be thankful if they just have food so it's extremely rare, that they or I would complain about food. We are big fans of Waffle House if that puts things in perspective. We like the fact that Waffle House is consistently just a shade above mediocre and that you don't always get exactly what you order or the way that you order it. It's kind of fun if you have the right attitude. Sometimes things are really good and sometimes they miss the mark a bit but we still don't grumble. But dang. Our meal at the Dinner Table restaurant made us think that maybe some complaining is warranted for the benefit of future patrons. Here we go... We ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. One of my boys ordered ham instead of bacon. It started when the ham came out smelling like a wet a dog. Seriously, that's exactly what it smelled like. It was also a different color than what most folks would consider normal for a slice of ham. My son, not eager to complain but worried about the odor, asked me if I thought it was okay. I took one whiff and said, "Nope. Don't eat that." Continuing, the eggs had eggshells in them. Now, I get it, occasionally a fragment of a shell is missed and ends up on the plate. Not in this case, these were chunks of egg shells. The gravy was basically whitish, milk water without sausage. (Sausage gravy is just browned sausage, flour, milk and salt and pepper in the proper volumes. If it's runny, add more flour. if its too thick add more milk. Either way though, it should contain a few bits of sausage for flavor and well, because that's the idea of sausage gravy.). Additionally, the bacon and hash browns were undercooked. On a positive note, the coffee wasn't bad. They did remove my son's meal from the ticket since the ham was bad so that was considerate. The service was fine as well but based solely on the cooking, I don't...
Read moreThis was my second visit to The Dinner Table since restaurants have finally started dine in buffets. I was extremely pleased with the food and service. If you like a regular, homestyle southern buffet this is great! I love watching their daily Facebook posting of their menu complete with the pictures of the buffet of the day even when I don't plan on going. I don't eat out a lot but when I do I love a good buffet. The food was perfect and not oversalted. I also must say that the first day I went they had the BEST chicken tenders I ever had. Yesterday they had a great peach cobbler. I am really picky on something like that. It was the right topping with enough sugar to make it good. This at most restaurants is an epic fail because it is never sweet enough but they nailed it at The Dinner Table. I live about 16 miles from it but it is worth the drive for the food and price. Drinks were included in the $10 buffet. Love it! Good enough to...
Read moreI only ate their food while incarcerated in the Bedford County Workhouse, Lane Parkway, in 2018, while working road gang 2, I ALMOST got to eat there in 2021/03 while working at Haynes Bros lumber company: I had been given A ticket for A free lunch gifted by the C.R.O.S.S shelter while living in A residential home ran by Ben Fletcher of 201 West End Ave, Shelbyville, TN, 37160, (C128 ministries) , when I went to use the ticket, nobody in the store had ever heard of such A ticket. 3/17/2023- I ate there last week. The food was actually great. i was charged $13 dollars. I WASN'T SURE OF THE PRICE. People network to take advantage of me. They are good at harassment, terror, deception and manipulation, so this is why I am easy to get over on. I do file complaints, tips, crime stoppers, and report to...
