I can not thank Fame & his 1st Class Crew enough or even find the right words to explain. We just had my Grandmother's Funeral Service there today on the same day my grandfather passed the 29th. We are of Polish Desent. But Fame & Staff made us feel like we were all back in the Old Country. He was raised the same & understands our ways . Everyone kept thanking me. I did nothing but trust Fame to do it Our Way. He raised the bar & threw it away. He is a Ringleader a Showman. Words can't even describe how impressed the Whole Family felt at home. Grandma always said slow down I want to see his flower garden out front every time we passed by. He made it all stress free . Trust me tell me what you expect it to be. I'll make it happen. Fame is very gifted. He is a True to heart man & his 1st class staff. I still can't find the words to describe it. Why everyone thanked me IDK . I picked the place bc Grandma Loved his Old World Style & Grace. It was ment to be. But as everyone left they took almost all your business cards sorry. But they know where to go now. For a 1st Class Setting & Experience. Everyone just kept thanking me & my family for having the Service there at Amici's some have never been always wanted to try. But we're Honestly Blown Away by it all. We felt like we were all back in the old country. With Class, Grace, & Honor this Man "Fame" will learn to understand your family ways and cater to it. Only Problem is I can only give 5* bc if 10 was an option he would get the Golden 10* Stamp!!! It's not our 1st time more like 25+ but each time or evening is better than the last experience. He Truly is a Gifted Man with his Staff. This is Wrapping up but the Vally Area has a Strong POLISH Comuniity. I Strongly recommend coming here to Amici's as an Option He will make it Stress Free & work with all your needs. Thank you Once Again Fame & to your 1st Class Staff. For making Our day so Memerable. Thank you fromChris...
Read moreAmici's is a very nice place that is great for either business meetings or taking someone special. The atmosphere is truly old world, and you feel like you're being taken back in time when you walk in.
Service was good, though it appeared as though there was a little bit of a disconnect with understanding, particularly with the qualities of wine. I ordered a Zeno amaroni, and it was not inexpensive. Frankly, it was a dud. The waiter raved about it, but since I was with business associates and they didn't know what an amaroni was, decided not to make fuss. You can consider that my fault, but it was clear the waiter didn't know one wine from the other.
Regarding the meal, the food quality was pretty good and I'd have to give it higher marks. I had the burrata has an appetizer, and that was very good, and then I had the chicken parm as the main course and that was to come with pasta with olive oil and garlic. How you screw up olive oil and garlic I do not know. It came in a sauce that was watery and kind of gross. But the chicken parm was absolutely delicious.
My business partner had a pasta bolognese dish and one of the guests had a seafood and pasta dish. They were thrilled with their meals.
Aside from the wine and my pasta this place is a keeper. If only the waiter would have gotten the owner or the sommelier as requested I'm sure that could have been resolved at the ordering. Don't know what happened with the pasta.
Amici's atmosphere, though, is top notch. When ordering, my suggestion is to try to stay close to management when...
Read moreI'm an expatriate from New York City, doomed by past sins to live out my life (for business reasons) in what is affectionately called "The Valley." Coming into the area, I spent quite a lot of time searching for a restaurant to call home. Amici's was it. Il Palio is wonderful, but you get the immediate impression that everybody there seems to be dining for some enormously important event, like maybe their cancer is in remission or something like that. Most of the women look like they have just been to their hair salon, which is depressing.
As for Amici's, the food is, in a word, excellent. The staff is friendly, compassionate and intelligent. The bar is as close to the Palm Court at the Plaza in NYC as you will ever get, if you live out your life in The Valley. Great, friendly bartenders who know how to pour serious drinks.
The only caveat that I would offer is that Friday and Saturday night's are extremely busy, and the place is crazy with people who dine out maybe once a week at most. If you can find a reason to eat at Amici's Sunday-Thursday, you will be rewarded by some of the best Italian food, in relative quiet, that you will have ever eaten.
Sunday-Thursday, Amici is 6 Stars, astounding...Friday & Saturday, you're on your own to do battle with the locals who have found what has to be the perfect Italian Restaurant in Shelton.
And please don't write about prices. It's a great value. If $30-40 per person is too much for you, you probably should be...
