Marriott review
We have stayed here twice for 5 days each within the past month.
The first time, I set trash outside our room for pickup. The trash sat there for 2 days. At the end of our stay, I requested a late checkout. We are Marriott Gold members. We were granted the 2 pm checkout.
I used the pool room where some kids where there and I found a sucker stick next to the hot tub. It stayed there for 5 days. I know this as I used the pool room each day.
When we checked in for our second stay, a dark women at the front desk proceeded to tell me about the trash pick up times. I said okay. We checked into room 208.
Our room was somewhat dirty. I say this aa the last occupancy left behind a razor blade cover in the bathroom. And there was a very unusual stain on the sofa.
So the first day, we showered. Both of us slipped in the shower on the very slippery tub.
The second day, I slipped and fell hard. I hit my neck on the side of the tub and my right buttocks. I went to the front desk to ask for additional towels and to report the fall.
The pregnant lady at the desk was sympathetic. I asked for a bath mat. She proceeded to tell my why they do not have any bath mats and tried to divert my request for an accident report. She explained that I should report my incident here.
As the week progressed, I set trash out again around 9pm for a morning pickup. The trash sat there for about 36 hours. The towels sat there even longer.
I used the pool room on both stays. When I went to the hot tub, I found the sucker stick just 5 ft from where it was just weeks ago. I also found a bandage and some white chewed gum both next to the hot tub. Both the bandage and the gum sat there for two days.
On our last day, I called and requested an extension in our checkout. I was granted a 1 pm checkout by a young dark man.
At 12:30 exactly, the dark women came knocking on our door. And stated that we were late. I was in the bathroom getting ready to leave when I heard her talking. I stated that I had called this morning and was given a 1pm checkout. She stated that she was not told. This women was sharp with her tone.
We will no longer stay at this Marriott hotel. I have a larger than soft ball size bruise on my back side that has scare tissue.
I am well knowledgeable in OSHA. Your tubs are...
Read moreIn early May our house flooded, and we had no choice but to move into a hotel until our insurance was able to dry out, pull up, and replace all the flooring throughout the house. When we were contacted by our Insurance agency regarding accommodations, your hotel came up in our search options as one that would possibly have a two bedroom suite available (as we have a nine month old daughter who enjoys her private sleep!), as well as being pet friendly.
Having never stayed at a Residence Inn before, we were unsure what to expect, so we went into it with no expectations. However, not long after our arrival, we were blown away by the friendliness and attention to detail that each of the staff we have engaged have shown us. Several different people, from front desk staff, to housekeeping, to the staff that organizes the mixers Monday - Wednesday nights, have gone out of their way to make sure that we felt like we were at home.
Although we were not able to get into a two bedroom suite upon initial check-in in mid-May (because one was not available), after talking with front-desk staff regarding it, they have again gone out of their way to help get us from a one bedroom suite into a two bedroom as one has just become available for at least a month (which we will need). Several of the staff (Christy, Scott, Elizabeth, and others) were nice enough to put a note in our file about it, as well as speaking with the manager (Brendan McDermott) at the time I brought it up to him. When I checked back in with another member of the front-desk staff, they were able to pull up our file and look into it to see if any progress had been made in getting us into a two bedroom, and told us that they were able to arrange things so that we could move into a two bedroom on Tuesday June 21st, so we are very excited for this!
We ended up staying a total of 73 days, and there was nothing that the staff could have done to make it even better of a stay for us. They all got to know our daughter and us by name, and greeted us with huge smiles every time they saw us. This hotel is a perfect example of what people want, need, and expect when they stay long-term in a hotel but can never actually find, and we could not have...
Read moreWhen we checked in around 6PM the 21st of October, the receptionist was very rude. She had a bun with graying hair and glasses. No name tag was worn. Did not welcome us, was just sitting in the lobby drinking something and watching tv. Mind you there was no body else around. She seemed very annoyed by our presence and when my card was declined(twice sadly as it was locked and I forgot) she basically threw the card on the counter and it almost fell off. She then proceeded to tell us that she had to let us in the room every time we leave because the card system for their room keys were down. She didn’t tell us about breakfast or check out time or anything else. Didn’t say to call if we needed anything either and was just over all upset we were even there. Back to the room keys. We didn’t receive any and was expected to wait on the staff and bother them to let us in sadly. After talking to a few other guest, this was going on for almost a week. When I asked another employee if they knew when it would be fixed, he told me very kindly that they don’t know and that someone still needs to come out and check on it. That’s unacceptable. Marriot, you need to fix a problem such as this as soon as possible. This is a safety issue as others are forced to prop their rooms open, and when we returned late at night on Saturday, the doors to the lobby wouldn’t even let us in(a safety precaution no doubt) because we needed a key card to get into the building. but it took the employee 5 minutes to let us in as they were helping others. This could’ve been fixed with another worker on staff. I know this is an unforeseen problem but there should be better ways to accommodate for both employees dealing with busy days and guest than this. Also if it was going on for almost a week by the time we came in, why were we not notified and emailed about this problem? This is something to keep your guest up to date on BEFORE they arrive. I want to say the rest of the staff was lovely and very kind, just the one older woman who was working as mentioned needs an attitude check, and possibly some retraining. I hope this never happens again, and I assure you, we will not be returning to...
