Update: stopped into take my employees out for lunch, the burgers are definitely smash burgers now and it seems like everything else was good! Will come back again 😁👌
There is a lot of room for improvement. First I will start with some positive, the waitress was nice and they seemed to have fixed a lot of the noise problem mentioned in a previous review. 5 of us tried a variety of the menu items. The things that can be improved are
-Smash burgers, by the very definition, smashburgers are made when you take a ball of hamburger and use a very large spatula on a piping hot griddle and smash them down to a very thin patty where there is massive maillard effect going on leaving a really tasty crust on both sides. Mine was just a regular fried patty.
-wings, One order of sweet spicy chili. They were fried, juicy and crusty the way you expect a wing to be, however the flavor of any spicy or sweetness wasn't there at all.
-Honey Sriracha burger, same as the wings, there was no sriracha flavor in that burger at all 🤷.
-our waitress was super nice, but it took a long time, we're guessing about 45 minutes to come around to see if we needed any refills or anything. And it looked like there was only two other tables that she was attending to, so short help didn't seem to be the problem.
Understandably any new place will have some kinks to work out, so we are understanding and that won't stop us from trying again later on at some point. If they can work out getting more flavor on their food and whatnot, we are willing to update the review. I try to be the most honest and understanding reviewer, I wish any new restaurant the best, it's definitely a hard business to be in I'm sure,...
Read moreIt's a nice enough place. I went there after work for some beers and wings. It was fine but I have a couple things that I think could be improved.
First off, THE NOISE! Holy potatoes is it loud in there. They could really use some acoustic treatments or something to muffle the noise. You practically have to yell so the people at your table can hear you. I'm not sure if your waitress was just quiet, but I could not hear at all and I'm not sure if she could hear me which leads me to my next point...
Like I said, I had gotten some wings. I ordered the classic citrus chipotle wings. However, maybe the waitress didn't hear me, but when they brought out my wings they were boneless and the waitress said they were honey barbecue. I honestly couldn't tell if it was honey barbecue or citrus chipotle, I don't know if I tasted either of those flavors on the sauce. They were okay, but not mind blowing.
Not a bad place, they just need to iron out some of the small things. I will try again in a couple months and see if it's any better. If those things can be fixed, I would...
Read moreWhen I first walked into Labbies I didn’t know what to think. Can a place with perfect lighting, eye catching decor, and friendly looking staff also have the best food in town? After trying Labbies just a few months ago, I can confidently say that it changed my life. Let’s just say that the me after I tried their signature Labbies Sauce is a much better person than before. Not only did the sauce taste delicious (IT SURE DID!) it genuinely changed me for the better. The staff, oh where do I even start, every person that works there must be an angel sent straight from the heavens above. Not only did they serve me with a smile, they made me smile after service. If I could give this place a billion stars I could. Thank you Labbies, thank you for your Labbies sauce, thank you for sharing your culinary expertise with all of Watertown, and most of all. Thank you for changing my life...
