If you want your order to be prepared in a manner that bears no resemblance to your request, then this is The resteraunt for you. The friendly wait staff will take your order promptly, but the nachos will take longer to come out than everything elsewhere, including the fajitas, but don't worry! The nachos here are prepared in grade school cafeteria style - that is to say that the mostly cold chicken is covered in half-melted cheese and topped off with bean soup. Update - Match 2023: I give this place a few years just to see if it was a fluke or if the experience would be the same. Unfortunately, the biggest improvement that was made was that the food was warm this time. This place is just... Not good. I'm not trying to knock anyone's opinion, because everyone has the right to be wrong, but if you think this is the best food ever, you have clearly never had good Mexican food. They cook their food until all semblance of taste and texture is gone, reducing the ground beef to barely-edible cow-based gravel. The rice is dry. The refried beans taste more of onions than of bean. Even if they do have authentic recipes, they are not good at reproducing them. I feel sorry for the front-of-house staff because they're the ones that are forced to deliver the horrible food that the kitchen cooks.

Update again: still no contact from management or owner. They clearly don't care about their customers. Updated review: Sadly things have turned. I've ordered from here almost every week for a year or more because when it's "right" it's good BUT expensive. Don't mind expensive, but I expect the food, service, portions, etc to match the high price. We looked past the very low health department grade and kept ordering. The portions have grown smaller over the last year. Tonight I paid $68 to feed 2 people. One dish was wrong (again), and the kicker was the white queso costing $13 for a "bowl" (actually a small cup) and they didn't send chips. They told the delivery man they were out. Well then DONT charge me $13 for the queso !! Hell for this price send someone down to the market and get some damn chips!! If it was $5 then....eh big deal. But for the cost then the service should be there. Food has arrived soggy on multiple occasions. Pics shows the "bowl". Oh well.....can't recommend anymore. Good thing there's plenty of local selection for this food. BTW.....I've tried contacting them and can't get anyone.

Looking for a place to start having lunch after church, my wife and I stopped by Sunday. Staff was friendly, but that was about where the good things started and stopped. The booths are incredibly tight. I'm not a huge man by any means, but my foot got stuck trying to get into the booth with my legs and feet under the table. Service was friendly, but extremely slow. My wife had the quesadilla, while I had a three combo with a taco, tamale and another item. The food had absolutely NO taste. I thought maybe I had concocted COVID and lost my taste, but my wife said hers was the same. I guess the positive was that it didn't taste bad, because it had no taste. Zero, nada, none. I don't know if I've ever had food with NO taste, but this was it. I could not recommend this to friends. Guess we'll still be looking for our "after church" eatery.

Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience with Camino Viejo. I ordered the pork tamales with rice and beans as well as white queso for the table. The tamales were $18 and the queso was $10, so I presumed the food would be pretty good if it was at that price point. Food for the four of us came out concerningly fast, which I was impressed with but soon discovered why it came out so fast. The rice was cold, the beans were lukewarm, one tamale was piping hot on the outside but cold on the inside and the other was room temperature and cold on the inside. Out of the four of us eating, only one person's food was actually warm and it was because it came out on the piping hot cast iron pan in wooden inlay(even that food was just warm at best). I was seated right across from the kitchen, so I was able to watch one of the cooks place my food (and numerous other people's food) into the microwave on a plate and then proceed to stick his finger on the food to see how hot it was before sending it out with the waiter. The flavor of the rice was good and the beans were decent, but the tamale was almost entirely masa(the steamed tamale dough) with just a tiny bit of pork in the middle. The pork flavor was good but EXTREMELY dry and the masa was almost completely flavorless. The queso was super watery and didn't have a lot of flavor, so definitely not worth the $10 we paid for it. They also do not sell any alcohol... So no margaritas, which I thought was a bit of a red flag.

On a positive note, the wait staff was friendly, attentive and pleasant(I can't remember his name, but I think it was Jake or Jacob). He went out of his way to make sure our vegetarian friend was taken care of and knew what her options were. The waiter was attentive enough without feeling like he was hovering. He also took my tamales off of our ticket because I only ate a few bites before sending it back. He was extremely apologetic and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. Quite honestly, our pleasant waiter is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The restaurant also had a big hole in the wall that they shoved brown paper towels into, the table was dirty, and the menus they brought out had food all over them. Overall our waiter was great, but Camino Viejo was WAY overpriced for the quality and experience. No one finished their food because we were all concerned we may get food poisoning after how cold everything was and after watching the cooks put so many things into the microwave before sending it out. I will not be eating here again or recommending this...

Horrible! Do not come if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food or even Tex mex for that matter. The guacamole was NOT fresh no doubt about it my mother (chef) could immediately tell that it was not fresh. The manager/chef said that it was fresh and even brought out the package of avocados as “proof” in a very rude matter. It was dark green! How could be fresh he said that the avocados were not as good as they usually are but that is not an excuse for the color. We ordered pastor tacos I personally ordered the plate and my sister did as well now I put the guacamole on both my tacos and when I was eating them it tasted sour but I thought it was the guacamole and I ate them all becouse I was hungry I didn’t was a 9$ plate to go to waste. When my mom saw my sister didn’t finish the tacos my sister said it was becouse she didn’t like them so I tasted the meat by itself and realized it wasent the guacamole it was the pork that was sour. The tamarindo water was also not fresh it tasted faint and old and it even sepreted in the cup very fast proof that it was not fresh. My mother got the tamales and the pulled pork had Poot flavor and was overstuffed with the meat there was no balance between the meat and masa The rice was horrible it was hard I could probably make the same rice using those rice in a bag microwaveable packets as well as the beans Outcome of complaint: I don’t normally complain but I told the waitress how I felt and she nodded in and had ok well too bad tone when I told her and seemed upset she had no reason to be upset with my complain if she didn’t cook the food she didn’t even say sorry to hear that or anything so I proceeded to ask for the manager and which she (unhappily) said ok..... the manager never came nor did she seem to fetch him so we told the cleaning personal and we then told the manager what happened he was so upset that we dared complain to him and he said oh well I’ve sold plenty of guacamole and tacos today and no one has complained you want me to show you?... what kind of manager speaks like that!? On top of that my mother kept talking and before she finished he stormed off his attitude was very rude in his mannerisms as well. He did bring our check from 90$ to 77$ which was okay and we are grateful normally we never deny those kinds of actions but there was just no way that food was worth even 77$ and we NEVER not leave a tip becouse it’s not the waiters fault but she had the audacity to be UPSET that we complained she had no reason to be! And now I’m just hoping that I don’t get sick...
