Don't get me wrong, this is a great place in concept. Unfortunately it fails in execution. They don't seem to really want to be a pub, just another bar. After 6 trips to this place over the last 2.5 months, the kitchen had only been open once and they were out of potatoes and had to make some. So... The take away is if you're looking for a place to drink literally at a bar and just want bread or crackers the drinks are better than 75% of the other bars in Sherman. If you're hungry eat somewhere else. It's sad because the one time they did have food available it was amazing! But the odds of getting an excuse are greater than getting something to eat. Read moreWe visited The Wig and Gavel for the first time on a rainy Thursday night. The pub is small but mighty. We found seats at the bar, and Rob immediately greeted us with a drink menu. For cocktails, I highly recommend the Margareta Thatcher and Old Fashioned. They host a weekly trivia night and sports on tv. We loved the ambiance and conversation with other patrons.
