I used to take my kids here pre Covid twice a month or more often in the summer time. When Covid hit I bought donuts here mainly to support a local business. The donuts are alright, nothing to rave about but the kids like the ones with lots of icing and while I cringe everytime, it is a treat so they get to choose what they like. Last week hubs and I drove to their new location on the hwy and they were out of the one i wanted. No big deal we thought we would drive to the downtown Sherwood location. I get there and the gal grabbed a paper bag without asking how many I would want assumed I wanted only 1 or however many would be crammed in a bag. After I told her I wanted to buy 6-9 at least she then told me she could put 3 donuts each per bag. And then hesitated and them added she could place in a box if I preferred. Guess its the end of the day and I bothered her. The door opened and another colleague of hers from the other location came in and she greeted her and then proceeded to hug her and pat her back and no problem there except they started chit chatting and catching up (away from where the donuts were) and I noticed the gloved had she used to pick up the first donut touched her colleagues back/clothing. Needless to say that completely grossed me out. Even without Covid to contend with this was unprofessional and unsanitary. I lost my appetite for donuts and decided to support other baked treats store local to me. Unprofessional...
Read moreI love this chain and the donuts are always so good, but every time a certain cashier is working, there's an issue with my order, and honestly, the interaction I have with her every time is so uncomfortable that I consider not even ordering when I see her. She has red hair and I'm so sorry, but she's been working here for the year or so I've been a customer, and she always messes up my order and acts like she has no clue what anything is when we order donuts, so we have to repeat outselves a few times. Just now, we ordered 2 Mexican hot chocolates, but she served us iced mochas. We kindly asked for Mexcian hot chocolates like we thought we ordered. She kindly made us new drinks, but she made ICED chocolate milk with cinnamon on top (?) that didn't taste like Mexican hot chocolate at all. What? I dont know what she did and I was so over it that we just took our drinks and left. I can't keep coming back here if this is my experience. I was trying to relax. This was also the first time I've seen the tables and...
Read moreI got an everything bagel (plain[$1.69]) and a large black coffee [$2.50]. I wish I had taken a photo, apparently "everything" here means 90% sesame/poppy seeds and 10% onion/garlic/salt, so the flavor profile was off in my opinion, I had to actually look hard to see the flecks of salt/garlic/onion and their flavor wasn't noticeable. The dough was very dense and rubbery. Which can be caused by a number of problems such as too much gluten in the flour, over kneading the dough, using too little yeast, or not enough water in the dough... if I had to guess probably not enough yeast and time to rise, because the dough was still moist (enough water), they most likely have proper flour (so its not the gluten content) it could also have been left in the mixer too long I suppose... Side note the coffee tasted burnt, and was self serve from heated thermoses. It was not subtle however if you take cream and sugar you may not notice, however I drink coffee black, so it was...
