We arrived at 8:13 pm we had ample setting selections and got our food we sat and began eating, all in total took about 5 min. there were about 7-8 occupied tables in the entire building, so it definitely wasn't busy. After about 5 min of eating no server. my husband drinks unsweetened ice tea witch we were told we would get from our server. At this point we hadn't seen a single server pass by our table. I went and got a cup of ice from the self serve when you approach the register and went on the hunt for tea I did find 2 possible servers. 1 was a very large male who apon our walk up to the building had been sitting in a red pick up parked on the side of the building and a clear smell of cannibus filling the air around the pickup. He was now pushing around a powerless vacuum. The 2 second person sitting at a table doing silver wear. When I asked for tea she didn't understand what I was asking for. It became clear she didn't speak English. The large man stopped what he was doing and filled the glass. I returned to my set. I asked if anyone had been by but sadly my husband reply was a very solid no. We continued our meal and I again had to chase our own drinks down. This while all the employees were moving about preparing the restaurant for closing and paying no mind what so ever the guests that were there. Some even collected take home plates. There were items missing from the food selections and quit a bit showing it had clearly been available for quite awhile. We completed our meal and was preparing to leave when finely at at 8:54 a female I think possibly a manager but she didn't state who she was asked if everything was OK. When informed her that not a single employee had visited our table until now. 40 minutes we had been there not a single person stopped and interacted with us, that we had to self serve our drinks. she came across very monotone as tho she wasn't concerned but was willing to act the part, her reaction and body language clearly enforced every negative we felt about this visit. The employees were only concerned about getting out of there as close to closing as humanly possible. Witch is understandable but not at the customers expense. The only positive was because I had to be my own server I got...
Read moreAwful customer service. Hung up on. Threatened they’d call the cops if I showed up. Told me she was calling the cops and giving them my phone number. If you’re looking for a place to go for more than one person don’t try this place… if you’re one person and try to go here, they MIGHT let you stay and eat without calling the cops.
Per a phone call with a manager (not someone pretending to be the manager) “We don’t have reservations on the weekends, but if you call us two hours before we will get the room ready for you. No problem at all!”
Phone call two hours before hand: “we can’t accommodate you in the room but we can spread you throughout the dining room.” After questioning and questioning and being told they don’t have enough servers (not sure why that would matter other than drinks) that would matter since it’s a buffet, but I digress. As I keep asking if we can scoot tables together (again, if you can seat us separately at tables through the dining room then how is this any different) I’m being told about how life is happening and they don’t have anyone to work. Cool, again not my problem though, if you’d like to continue to have a place of employment to come to you’d think you’d want customers. Again, clearly not sure what you’re trying to accomplish but okay.
I am then told that I am threatening her and she would be calling the cops and giving them my phone number. After racking my brain, I still have zero idea what threat I was making other than asking why they changed their mind on what an actual manager said, unlike the one who was playing manager. I did explain how I almost died from Covid last year so I did know what was going on in life… Skip this rude “manager’s” place of employment and go to literally any other restaurant. I’ve had better customer service at Walmart and McDonald’s on Black Friday than I had by...
Read moreMy husband and I tried to have lunch at the Shiloh Illinois Golden Corral on yesterday 07-21 2025 after paying we notice our favorite foods pot roast, mash potatoes, spinach, catfish was missing along with other items.Customers were standing waiting because the manager said it would be five minutes before foods came out. They had been waiting 15minutes already,we hung around for 30minutes still no foods came out except macaroni &cheese as well as overcooked shrimp. It wasn't quite change over for dinner yet so the problem looked like no cooks in the kitchen. The counter top where mash potatoes were was nasty and pointed out to a cook or server he refused to wipe counter off as if it wasn't his job.Bread pudding is always dry when asked why she didn't put sauce on top just said she didn't have any.Well whose gonna eat and enjoy dry bread pudding? After 30minutes we decide to get a refund and still got charged for ice tea when that should have been complimentary for the no foods inconvenience. We traveled quite a distance because we live in another city. This location has gone to the dogs and a lot of customers were disappointed and made it known. The restaurant was still allowing people to come in instead of telling them the buffet was not even half full.In my opinion the manager kept saying 5minutes the food would be ready needs to be fired. Noone even apologized for the inconvenience or offered free drinks on a hot heat advisory day.No rain checks just business as usual with limited foods at the full price. The service was very poor and we will not be returning period. We went to Red Lobster instead and it was...
